Take a swipe…or five!

Studying the design of the typical New York City subway turnstile, we see what the trouble here was for Madam Secretary: She had to go to her right to get by. That was always going to be problematic.

On the other hoof, Citizen Bernie is dating himself to the Ed Koch days by wondering what happened to the tokens. Remember those things? With the oversize ‘Y’ cut out of the center?

Nevertheless, you can still walk into Saint Patrick’s Cathedral in Midtown during the middle of mass, drop some cash money in the offertory box and light a votive… world without end, amen.

Free ones: Rundown…

Aqueduct 7, 12
Gulfstream Park Proper 6, 9, 10
Santa Anita 5, 8, 9, 12

Pay-side (Weekend/Weekday): Today…

Golden Gate 7, 9
Hawthorne 6, 8
Keeneland 7, 8, 9, 10, 11
Laurel 7, 8, 10
Lone Star 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8
Oaklawn 5, 7
Tampa 9, 12
Turf Paradise 8
Woodbine 10

Today’s Stakes Pageantry: Santa Anita 5, 8, 9 on the free page. Pay-side includes Keeneland 7, 8, 9, 10, Tampa 9.

Going with #1 Clair de Lune in Aqueduct 8.

One-to-nine on the morning line is probably correct for #1 Songbird in Santa Anita 7. Regrets! In Race 10 there, the cold-puncher&rsquos; box appears to be upsetter #5 Brandothebartender and fave #6 Tough But Nice. Likewise in the 11th, it’s longshot #2 Skye Diamonds and the obvious #4 Pacific Heat.

Should be OK for the standout #2 Terra Promessa in Oaklawn 9.

Straight-up call to #4 Imperial Hint in Tampa 8.

Yesterday’s Activity:

Track (Win Mutuels $20+/Gettable)

Aqueduct (2/1) — Publicly touted Wave Warrior rides into the winner’s circle at $29-even in Race 5; ’Wave had the good-enough 86 on the LifeLiner Spread Column analysis, sufficient for action in a contentious race.

Chas. Town (1/½) — The opener went to General Wilko at $23.60. The race was classically contentious, and the ’General was third-best on the conventional Betting Line at Fair Odds of 4-1. Old-School Champeens collected, even as Progressive-Oriented LifeLiners had to pass this one up.

Evangeline (3/1½) — The $95-straight winner in Race 2, North Hullen, was a get for the High-Octane chancers; even though the race seemed to have a strong top pick at actual odds of 7-10, North Hullen had a sufficient 82 on the LifeLiner Spread Column analysis. Later, Race 6 had Fifty Five Steel, $21.20, coming through as a Betting Line-type overlay (without any LifeLiner backing) in a contentious race, similar to the horse mentioned in the Chas. Town commentary above.

Fonner (3/1) — A contentious Race 1 was all over the map in terms of first-timers and untalented experienceds, and the debuting Johnette Junior had a qualifying connection-line readout of 14pc/10pc/N/A. She won at $44.40.

Golden Gate (1/1) — High-Octane Chancers were buoyed by the Dual Qualifier Saint Mamie (81, 82) in the finale, even though the race was not contentious. Saint Mamie went gate-to-wire to win by 4 at a $24.20 mutuel up top. Yup. A KING OF THE NETCAPPER BULLIES NIGHTCAP special. Good job.

Gulf (3/0) — Visiting Heat lose All-Florida Big-League Hoopball Showdown to Orlando, 112-109; Dwyane Wade, still in the league, leads Miami with 17 pts.

Hawthorne (0/0) — Visiting Cubs, already having lost Kyle Schwarber for the season, also lose to Arizona, 3-2; Trevor Cahill absorbed the loss in a shaky 9th-inning relief appearance.

Keeneland (1/1) — Publicly touted Reeder was a get for players of all stripes in the last: Old-School Champeens, Progressive-Minded LifeLiner Eggheads, High-Octane Chancers, you name it. Reeder was top of the contentious Betting Line at Fair Odds of 4-1; as well, Reeder was one of ’em Dual Qualifying horseys (91, 89). Reeder won by 3¾ at $23.20. N.B. Publicly touted horseys won the two races immediately ahead of the finale for the $226 daily double and the $1,665 pick triple, both for $2. Good job to all the KING OF THE NETCAPPER BULLIES NIGHTCAP-style players. Good work. ’grats.

Laurel (2/½) — Here’s the third example of Old-School Champeens having a Field Day with the yolk-joke being on the Progressive-Minded LifeLiner Eggheads. Race 5 found Indian Bucks atop the regular Betting Line at Fair Odds of 3-1 in a contentious race. Indian Bucks was not supported by LifeLiner, though, and it did not matter: $21.40 for the win on the ’Indian.

Lone Star (1/1) — Revenge of the Progressive-Minded LifeLiner Eggheads now, as publicly touted Margarita Bigg, buried toward the bottom of the Power Ratings and without any Fair Odds in the Betting Line in a contentious race, nonetheless had the sufficient 91 on the LifeLiner Spread Column analysis. She went pretty much gate-to-wire to win by 5 at $25.20. We salute you, you Progressive-Minded LifeLiner Eggheads. Good work.

Oaklawn (1/0) — USA Today report ranks Pins Bluff (Pins, yes) as No. 2 on the list of fastest-shrinking cities in the U.S.

PennNat (0/0) — Sick-Sirs fail to reach 11 wins on the season, losing to Knickerbockers, 109-102; Philalala’s Robert Covington led all scorers with 30 pts.

Santa Anita (1/0) — Jakers collect 63rd loss of the season, 110-102 in New Orleans; La-La Land’s D’Angelo Russell led all scorers with 32 pts.

Tampa (0/0) — Rays fall in Baltimore, 6-1; Tampa starter Chris Archer was rocked for 10 H and 6 ER in 5 IP.
