Today’s Stakes Pageantry: Keeneland 9 on the pay-side.

Wild-open in Evangeline 9, wild-open. Favorite-longshot pairing of #7 Blip n’ Th Bye and #5 Ms Runcat seems as good as any other.

Yesterday’s Activity:

Track (Win Mutuels $20+/Gettable)

Aqueduct (0/0) — Blueshirt Rangers fall to visiting Islanders, 4-1, losing all games in the season series with the Brooklynites; Kevin Klein had the only goal for the Gothamites.

Chas. Town (0/0) — West Virginia Fire Marshal declares one person dead, one home destroyed and several others damaged in a fire in St. Albans.

Evangeline (4/1) — No High-Octane Chancers needed to take down Steep Paladin in Race 5; the Betting Line was contentious, and ’Paladin’s Fair Odds were 6-1. As well, there was a qualifying 80 for him in the LifeLiner Speed Column. He rallied accordingly to win by a clean head at $25.40. Golden Gate (1/1) — Publicly touted Olympic Jumble was another who did not require High-Octane Chanciness to be redeemed. After all, ’Jumble was at Fair Odds of 4-1 in a textbook-contentious race, and had a good-enough 82 in the LifeLiner Spread column. He won at $26.60.

Gulf (0/0) — Panthers defeated by host Senators, 3-1; the evergreen Jaro Jagr scored Florida’s goal, his 27th on the season.

Hawthorne (1/0) — Host Blackhawks allow Blues to score tying goal with 1:16 left in regulation, then give up the game-winner in the extra period, losing 2-1; Vladimir Tarasenko scored both St. Louis goals, his 38th and 39th of the season.

Lone Star (1/0) — Stars double-up visiting Avalanche, 4-2; Colton Sceviour scored for Dallas and was the game’s No. 1 Star.

Oaklawn (0/0) — Starbucks, Converse Factory Store to open at Outlets of Little Rock.

PennNat (1/0) — Philalala Flyers rally to tie visiting Toronto at 3-all in final minute of regulation, then lose in OT, 4-3; Wayne Simmonds scored the third Philalala goal, his 30th on the season.

Santa Anita (0/0) — La-La Land Kings hold on for tense 2-1 victory over visiting Anaheim; Kris Versteeg scored the gamewinner, his 15th goal of the year.
