You don’t need a bodybuilder physique to excel at tennis; in fact, lugging around all that extra musculature might be a little tiring when you get to that fifth-set tiebreak. The skinny-legged (below the knees, anyway) guys do best, just like how Koobay Brian (R.I.P.) & Mike Jordan Sr. used to soar through the air. And while the pecs and biceps don’t have to be remarkable, the chassis must be classy! You want that oversize, drum-tight gluteus maximus to be able to generate that ferocious first-step explosiveness necessary to covering the court — pickleballers don’t need it, nor do golfers. But, as you can see in today’s lede snap, Carlos Alcaraz here, age 20, is one of the top two male tennis players in the world because of his enviable rear-end. ¡Vamos, Carlitos!

No further content today — regrets! Going to a tournament in the desert. No, not the one you’ve heard about; we’re talking about another one: big-league tennis at Indian Wells. Today is Quarterfinals Day, so, fittingly, as quarterfinalists ourselves in something else, we feel obligated to go. Last night, Jupiter & The Moon tried to get closer, and this is how the superzoom snapped it. Best wishes!

Entering tonight’s second leg of their Champions League round-of-16 matchup, Porto held a slim 1-nil lead over your No. London Arse, who needed to win the second leg by at least a two-goal margin to guarantee advancing to the next round, the quarterfinals. A draw was not enough, and would end their run in the tournament. And then there was the third possibility: a one-goal Arsenal win after both the regulation 90 mins. & the 30 mins. of extra time had elapsed. That’s how it happened, this time, for host Arsenal at The Emirates, and it would take a penalty shootout to determine which team would go through to the quarters.
