BestLine Racing Society Recap:
Some post-press-time connections to report from last night’s (Saturday’s) late action. At Shakopee, Minn., #10 Betyar Azets (.117 Win Prob / 7.55-1 Fair Odds / 10.97-1 Premium Odds) was on the plus-side of the ledger in Race 5 at $27-even. At Nisku, Calgary, Alta., Race 6 went to #3 Fast Eh (.251 / 2.98 / 3.78), who won it for the speakers of that country’s vernacular at $14.10. At Collinsville, Ill., the opener had #5 Betty’s Secret (.325 / 2.08 / 2.69) being revealed as your winner at $7.40. At Vancouver, B.C., #5 When in Mexico (.484 / 1.07 / 1.89) won Race 6 for the other non-U.S. member of NAFTA at $8.60. At Altoona, Iowa, #2 Graphene Cassock (.347 / 1.88 / 2.46) won Race 5 for the Men of the Cloth at $8.60; in Race 8 there, #5 Lucky’s Secret (.300 / 2.33 / 3.00) had the confidence of only a modest percentage of the bettors in an $11.60 win.
As for today (Sunday), another good-sized docket.
Starting this time in the Bluegrass State, specifically at Louisville, where Race 3 had sorry-not-sorry winner #2 La Marinera (.618 / 0.62 / 0.94) sailing into the winner’s circle at $22.14. In Race 6, #4 Baraye (.359 / 1.79 / 2.34) got the necessary adjustments via late scratches & a surface-change to win at $6.62; granted, this was 6¢ shy of the premium price, but we could not blame you if you decided to leave those half-dozen pennies as a tribute upon The Altar of The God of Doing Business Via The Parimutuels — we report, you decide!
Back to Shakopee, now, for today’s Race 4, which was won by #2 Northern Angel (.311 / 2.22 / 2.86) at $15.20; completing your winning $102.40 exacta was #6 Mighty Madi (.173 / 4.78 / 7.09), with the premium price on that comboa (comboa!) being $46.27.
Up in the Pacific Northwest, it was #1 Victoria’s Charge (.291 / 2.44 / 3.12) finding the power to take Race 3 on the Auburn, Wash., card at $9.04.
Down the I-5 South this time to Arcadia, Calif., and Race 3 winner #1 Run for My Honey (.431 / 1.32 / 1.78), first to the wire at $10-even. In Race 5, another sorry-not-sorry win, this time via #7 Lil’ Bit Bossy (.623 / 0.61 / 1.25) at $8.40.
