If you’re in the Rust Belt or the Bible Belt, Merry Christmas to yourself. For all other districts, Happy Season’s Greetings. No Thoroughbreds today, unless you want to visit the fiscally distressed Commonwealth of Puerto Pobre Rico for some Holiday Action at El Comandante, home of the Puerto Rican Rocket, the incomparable Mr. Frisky. Anyway, we can play music today instead, and this is a good album all the way through to class up your festivities. The arrangements are at once Baroque and Modern, delving into minor-key melodies from time to time in order to keep you on your musical toes; truly, it’s both an ancient and 21st-century reworking of all your Yuletide favorites, such that your ears will delight at the aural playfulness.
