Pay-side (Weekday/Weekend): Today…

Golden Gate 3, 5, 7, 8, 9
Keeneland 6, 7, 9
Laurel 8
Lone Star 4, 6, 7, 8
Tampa 6, 9, 10
Turf Paradise 2, 4
Woodbine 6

Today’s Stakes Pageantry: Should be OK for the obvious #6 Noholdingback Bear in Woodbine 8.

Opening Day at Hastings now, and Race 6 is wild-open, wild-open. Sidestepping the top two morning-line choices and going with #7 Majestic Presence, #3 Avadiva and #6 Quatre Cat instead.

Yesterday’s Activity:

Track (Win Mutuels $20+/Gettable)

Aqueduct (1/0) — Blueshirt Rangers grab away win in Pittsburgh, 4-2, evening series at 1 game apiece; J.T. Miller had 3 assists for New York.

Chas. Town (0/0) — Huntington Police arrest 10 on city’s West End; 9 facing prostitution charges.

Emerald (1/1) — The Canary Lived survived the contentious nightcap with a qualifying 83 on the LifeLiner Spread Column analysis; he won at $24.60. Good work.

Evangeline (3/1) — Race 9 had Grit (!) winning at $33.60; it was a contentious race, and Grit had the necessary 87 on the LifeLiner Speed Column analysis. Good work.

Finger (1/0) — N.Y. state troopers say 2 cars crashed Friday night during a dirt modified race at Canandaigua Motorsports Park; both drivers sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

Fonner (0/0) — White Team beats Red Team, 46-41, on final play of 2016 Univ. of Nebraska spring game at Lincoln.

Golden Gate (1/1) — Contentious in the eighth, and Ed Johnson had the field-best 85 on the LifeLiner Spread Column analysis; he went gate-to-wire to win by 2¼, paying $30.40. No public tout forthcoming due to low morning-line odds. Nonetheless, good work.

Gulf (1/0) — Marlins lose to visiting Atlanta, 6-4; Miami starter Tom Koehler fell to 0-2 on the season, giving up 5 ER in 3⅔ IP.

Hawthorne (0/0) — Host Cubs beat Colorado, 6-2; Chicagoland starter Jake Arrieta moved to 3-0 on the season, going 8 shutout innings.

Keeneland (1/1) — Publicly touted Exaggerated had your qualifying 84 on the LifeLiner Speed Column analysis in a contentious Race 8; he won at $22-even. Good work.

Los Alamitos Nighttime (0/0) — Visiting Angels lose to Minnesota, 6-4; Los Angeles starter Jeff Weaver surrendered 4 ER in 4⅓ IP.

Los Alamitos Thoroughbreds (1/1) — High-Octane Chancers made an appearance at The Win Window via Mitzi Winks in Race 4. The race was not contentious, and ’Mitzi’s morning line was a short 5-1; however, she had a qualifying 71 (!) on the LifeLiner Speed Column analysis, and that was enough. She paid $24-straight up top. Good work.

Laurel (3/1) — Race 7 went to Zapata, $21.40. Zapata was a Dual Qualifier (82, 81) in a contentious race, though the public tout was not possible because of a low 5-1 morning line.

Lone Star (1/0) — Stars beat visiting Minnesota, 2-1, to open up 2-0 lead in their playoff series; Dallas goalie Kari Lehtonen was the game’s No. 1 star, saving 25 of 26 shots faced.

Mountain (2/0) — See Chas. Town commentary.

Mahoning (1/1) — Eightthehardway took Race 4 at $22-even. The race was contentious, and Eightthehardway had the very good 88 on the LifeLiner Speed Column analysis.

Oaklawn (5/2) — High Dollar Kitten ran to that billing in the third, paying $47.80 for the upset. ’Kitten squeaked by with an 81 on the LifeLiner Speed Column analysis in a contentious race. In Race 5, Raagheb was a Dual Qualifier (82, 86) in a noncontentious race, so perhaps only High-Octane Chancers were eligible to cash in on the $22.60 mutuel. Good work.

PennNat (0/0) — See Aqueduct commentary.

Keystone (0/0) — Philalala sports teams suffer double-whammy inflicted by Wash., D.C., rivals. Fightin’ Phils get clobbered again by visiting Nats, 8-1, and Fightin’ Flyers again frustrated by inhospitable host Braden Holtby & The Remainder of His Capitals, 4-1.

Sunland (0/0) — Grand jury indicts Sunland Park man on child molestation charges.

Tampa (0/0) — Rays trounce visiting White Sox, 7-2; Brad Miller went 2-for-4 with a homer and 3 RBI for Tampa.

Turf Paradise (1/0) — D’backs suffer road loss in San Diego, 5-3, in 14 inn.; Arizona burned through 9 pitchers.

Woodbine (3/1½) — Old-School Champeens were well-served in Race 5 with Our Gabrielle, $25; ’Gabrielle was at Fair Odds of 6-1 on the conventionally contentious V6 Betting Line. Good work. In Race 7, no public tout was forthcoming on Sweet Grass Creek, 4-1 on the morning line; however, ’Creek had a sharp 85 on the LifeLiner Speed Column analysis on the way to a $24.10 win mutuel. Good work.

The WRD (1/0) — Comanche Co. deputy shoots and kills suicidal man; the shooting is being reviewed by the Okla. State Bureau of Investigation.
