Today’s Stakes Pageantry: None today, but we have some Thursday Night Big-League American Gridiron Throwball, Tampa v. Hotlanta, and each seat in the Ga. Dome tonight will have a Home Depot-verified credit-card number taped to the bottom.

Yesterday’s Activity: Yeah, Kentucky Downs. Every race is on the grass, and every race has 17 entrants, minimum, and every race is contentious, like a Breeders’s Cup Mile or Turf Sprint every half-hour. Wild stuff, Kentucky Downs. The overlays look so plentiful.

And they are, but the results are loath to coöperate. Yesterday, though, one of ’em broke through in Race 9, courtesy of Second Bonkersmate Spring Included.

Spring Included, second-bottom from the conventional V6 Betting Line and 12-1 on the morning line, nonetheless qualified for consideration in the contentious race via her OK 82 score in the LifeLiner Speed Column analysis.

Sent off at 90¢ shy of an even 30-1 on the toteboard, Spring Included led all the way to win clear by 3 lengths, running to her complete LifeLiner array of 89-91-82. She paid $60.20 straight.

The 3-1 public fave was the runner-up; this horse was also the top LifeLiner Speed Column horse in the field, 94. The exacta paid $352.40, for $2. Another LifeLiner Speed Column qualifier ran third, at 8-1, and the trizacta paid $2,692.40, for $2.

As always, hope you had ’em.
