Where’s Thierry Henry when you need him?

Champions League, ciao!

It’s been a poor couple of weeks for Piers Morgan, certainly.

Pay-side: Today…

Today’s Stakes Pageantry: Aqu 8 on the free page.

Hard to figure in SA 8, but maybe #5 Teaks North can break-up some exotics ticketsz.

Yesterday’s Activity: Some OK ones on the free page this time.

Aqu 10 had Dads Caps, 12-1 on your morning line and 20¢ shy of 11-1 in real life, going gate-to-wire to win by 1½ lengths at $23.60-straight.

Dads Caps ran to his complete LifeLiner array (94-99-81), and the runner-up, whose array was (60-60-81), rallied to complete your $138.50 perfecta. Granted, the runner-up was not among the touted, due to his 2-1 favoritism on the morning line, but he qualified on LifeLiner, and this exotics combo was indeed gettable.

The trizacta, which paid $469-even for $2, was completed by the highest LifeLiner Speed Column number in the field.

Close call in the next race there, as touted Station Chief, 10-1 on the toteboard from a 15-1 morning line, made his debut a nearly-was, finishing second, beaten 1¼.

Over to Santa Anita, Race 3 had Alert Bay, 8-1 on the morning line and 9-1 when the bell rang, closed like the champion he’s on his way to becoming, beating the runner-up by a grim half-length. Alert Bay was the sole LifeLiner Speed Column qualifier, paying $20.20 up top.

As always, Welcome to The Home of The Runner-Up Finish, with Kiss Moon in Race 9 at Oaklawn becoming the latest resident to move in. Kiss Moon, 12-1 on the morning line and 30¢ shy of 14-1 at the off, stayed in serious touch all the way around, harassing the frontrunner every step of the mile-and-a-sixteenth race. Unfortunately, Kiss Moon never took it upon herself to actually go by the leader, and they ran one-two for the duration.

Fortunately, the winner was the top of both the V6 Betting Line and the LifeLiner Speed Column analysis, yielding a $107-even saver perfector.

Bonkersmate City of Weston got the consolation prize in the 10th at Tampa. City of Weston, 12-1 on the morning line and sent off at 16-1 when the gates opened, could not trouble the winner, losing by 6&fracq14; lengths. No savers to save us this time, though. Regretsz!
