OK, OK. Now that the Koobay Brian & The Rest of The Jakers are scuffling, there’s no excuse for you not to come reside in the La-La Land. Major case: it’s sunny and 75°F today. How’s by you?

Life is just so daily, as they are fond of saying. When the weather is paradisal on a recurring 24-hour basis, it’s easy to want to take it, well, easy. The Nordic Sagas are harsh and mean largely because of the prevailing climate. On the other hoof, our friends the Pacific Islanders of The World (and, to a lesser extent, your smiling, plastic Angelenos) have no problem languishing to the hula, surfing, and worshiping in cargo cults like Dianetics whenever they are so moved! Praise Allah!

As well, Studio City on any random day has enough beautiful females to fill up a whole Flyover State, even the big ones like Tejas (Tejas!). But right around this time of year, the streets are teeming with even more lovely ladies than usual. THANK YOU, PILOT SEASON! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, PILOT SEASON!

PILOT SEASON! Come for the PILOT SEASON, STAY FOR THE CLIMATE SEASONSz. The CARGO CULT OF PILOT SEASON!

(Now, what’s this foamy white sputum erupting from our mouths? Rabid!)

Today’s Stakes Pageantry: Turf Paradise 8 was an added-money event this afternoon. We shall tell you tomorrow how it turned out. Yes, tomorrow’s edition of “Yesterday’s Activity” will lay it all out, good, bad, ugly, indifferent, etc. Stay tuned.

Yesterday’s Activity: Now, groupthink is a dangerous idea. Let’s say you get caught up in one of these online forums (fora?). Let’s say that you are easily swayed by the prevailing wisdom. Rather than check things out for yourself, you prefer to let the other mopes in the room do your scoping out and vetting for you. Indeed, rather than actions and meaningful activity, it’s mere words that cast a most powerful spell upon you. In this regard, it’s the loudest of the loud whom you trust most. The channel rarely budges from Fix News or MSNBCCCP.

If that’s your style, more power to you. However, sometimes actions speak louder than words, no? So if you saw someone doing the business and making meaningful contributions to the world at large yet the loud voices in your environment told you otherwise, then what? Whom to believe?! Such a dilemma!

Yes, groupthink is a dangerous thing. It stunts meaningful inquiry. It squelches reality in favor of propaganda. For many years, the Pope was infallible. For many years, it was reported that consumption of saturated fats and foods rich in cholesterol were the main drivers of coronary heart disease. On that latter point, Dr. Ancel Keys and his then-gospel Seven Countries Study were anointed the authority on such life-and-death matters.

Well, the Pope is now just another man, pushing another Twitter account. Ancel Keys and his sham studies are being discredited with each passing day. In both instances, the messenger and the message were mistakenly believed to be the truth. The media, unwilling to do the work necessary to uncover the truth, ran with it. The loudest voices won. “Repeat a lie often enough…” You know how it is. Boy Scouts, Penn State, Enron, the beat goes on. The guys making the best impression in the media are the winners. Perception equals reality. It’s hard to beat that.

So, yes, here we are, Cynthia Publishing Company. Are we good or are we evil hucksters? Are we rude and inconsiderate or are we the Mother Teresa of Touting? In a world minus nuance, in a world that wants instant judgment and all-black or all-white, we are that maddening, indiscriminate shade of grey! (But please, just one shade!)

Yet the larger question remains: Do we help people out? Are we doing the business with our actions and not just via tens of thousands of forum-posts on the Interwebsz? We don’t talk that loud because we would rather let the simplicity of this here Web log and our other complimentary pages do the speaking. We allow the quality of the results highlight and advertise the effectiveness of our product. We don’t talk that loud because we would rather focus on the results! No one got rich from Web posts that much; yet some people have gotten healthy by viewing our various pages and then biting the bullet to get the software and other products.

In this regard, the groupthink was overcome. The actions and the results took precedence. We have a mission to produce good touting and good products. Sometimes we do it; other times we don’t. That’s truth. But please do allow yourself the courtesy of thinking for yourself, eh?

Now, on with the show. Speaking of results and meaningful actions, when’s the last time you saw something free on the Interwebsz that could have put thousands of dollars in your pocket? For this here Weblog, not that long ago! Scan the archives for a “Nocturnal Submission” earlier in January 2013 involving a late-race at Delta and you’ll see for yourself.

And then yesterday, Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013, on our vaunted and never-duplicated tout page affectionately known for many years now as Pick of the Day, something for everyone who wasn’t too adversely affected by groupthink.

It doesn’t happen often enough, but here was a moment to savor, a free $244 perfector to anyone who was paying attention. An 11-1 winner in the Deity, and a 9-1 runner-up in Bilbao, which in a 10-horse field translated to a $244 exotic-match mutuel.

Now you are free to listen to any Interwebsz forum posters you like, but what are they really doing for yourself? Hmmmmm.
