Today’s Stakes Pageantry: None on Wednesday. J! Teen Tourney begins this evening, though. Dick Van Dyke will be watching. Quoting from a recent interview he gave: “I have to admit, I don’t get the comedies today. Maybe it’s just my vintage. Actually, I stick pretty much with the news, and I love Jeopardy!. I watch Al Jazeera. They have news that you can’t find anywhere else. They do great documentaries, too”.
You remain the best, Mr. Rob Petrie, always. Don’t ever change.
As for the tourney, no New Jerseyans/Jerseyites this time. But sometime during the first five shows there’ll be a young lady named Tori Amos playing (nope, can’t make this stuff up!), and check out the incredible hair of one Mr. Leonard Cooper from Little Rock, Ark. Fear the ’fro!
Yesterday’s Activity: “Tuesday Sniping” was self-sufficient on the afternoon and evening. All the hits were in contentious races in which the chosen 8-1 or higher on the morning line had enough merits in the LifeLiner Speed Column Analysis. Primitive stuff, no one on TV or in racing’s lamestream (you betcha!) print-media would possibly stoop to these desperate depths. Nope. They have to go on and fill up the airwaves and column-inches with esoteric angles and abstruse pace-and-figure theories and so much more, so much more. They fool themselves into earnestness — “I believe what I am saying”! This despite knowing in their heart of hearts that theirs is really only an opinion, not based in anything proven. But, hey, if it makes them look smart or bluffs the reader or viewer, why not? The greater the number of words coming from their mouth or their keyboard, the greater they income. What a job!
On the other hoof, primitivo HiddenEntries rather pushes Heart of Kela in Race 5 at Beulah at 3-1; It’snosmallwonder in Race 4 at Keystone at 5-1; and to end the night on a quick and deadly strike, the fangs of the Cobrador (!) show fatal menace in Race 2 at Chas. Town at 15-1. God bless ya, Cobra! King Cobra 40s and blunts! Blunts ’n’ 40s, bro-hams! Blunts ’n’ 40s! See if you’ll ever encounter that particular phrasing on the HRVG Channel or The Daily Racing Timesz! Nevah! They’re too busy adjusting their hairpieces or reading their press clippings.
