You know, by the Grace of The Universe or Whatever Deity To Whom / To Which You Choose to Ascribe All Random Events, we were quite lucky to fall into the lively sports-politics sphere of interest, rather than the dark and lisping sci-fi/fandom corner of the room. As such, we enjoy the spectacle and unpredictably exquisite torture of the real-life competition, not the preordained and unchanging presentation on the screen that has the same old outcome even after a thousand viewings. As well, we will not dress-up for cosplay or any of that stuff; we will not even wear a jersey as spectators to the athletic contests we attend, though a T-shirt or a hoodie with a tasteful and restrained team logo we have deemed as acceptable and appropriate. Anyway, the postseason pucks are bouncing again at a rink near you, and Game 1 of the Nat’l Hockey League Western Conference playoff between the villainous Edmonton Oilers and your La-La Land Los Kings did not disappoint. The Southern Californians fell behind by two goals twice in the contest before finally tying things up with mere seconds remaining in regulation; then in overtime they had to survive a disallowed Edmonton goal before finally getting the instant win as shown in this here video lede.
