We’re nothing if not diehards, so even though your No. London Arse are no longer in control of their own destiny vis-à-vis winning the English Premiership this season, we still do celebrate their triumphs, including today’s 3-1 stroll against the hapless visitors of The Chelski Erstwhile Fútbol Oligarchy. Here is Martin Ødegaard’s second goal of the contest. Continue reading

We have this theory that if you buy one of these superautomatical weapons of death & destruction, you’re gonna want to get the maximum response out of it. Maximum response is not limited to just shooting off toward the sky or busting-up some targets or cases of Budweiser Light beer. Nope. Maximum response means killing a sentient creature and disintegrating it to the point of not just cessation of respiration or existing, but of removing as many traces of its physical presence as possible.

The exquisite torture of overtime playoff ice-hockey continued afresh last night when your host La-La Land Los Kings and visiting, villainous Edmonton Oilers ended tied at 2-apiece after regulation in the third game of their opening-round tilt. Then the Los Angelenos were awarded a power advantage and did not disappoint, scoring the instant win and gaining a 2-1 series lead heading into tomorrow night’s Game 4. Go Kings Go! #GKG Continue reading

The Gunners’ Premiership title hopes are dribbling away rapidly, with the U.K. sharps now quoting their chances at +300 on the money line. Continue reading

You know, by the Grace of The Universe or Whatever Deity To Whom / To Which You Choose to Ascribe All Random Events, we were quite lucky to fall into the lively sports-politics sphere of interest, rather than the dark and lisping sci-fi/fandom corner of the room. As such, we enjoy the spectacle and unpredictably exquisite torture of the real-life competition, not the preordained and unchanging presentation on the screen that has the same old outcome even after a thousand viewings. As well, we will not dress-up for cosplay or any of that stuff; we will not even wear a jersey as spectators to the athletic contests we attend, though a T-shirt or a hoodie with a tasteful and restrained team logo we have deemed as acceptable and appropriate. Anyway, the postseason pucks are bouncing again at a rink near you, and Game 1 of the Nat’l Hockey League Western Conference playoff between the villainous Edmonton Oilers and your La-La Land Los Kings did not disappoint. The Southern Californians fell behind by two goals twice in the contest before finally tying things up with mere seconds remaining in regulation; then in overtime they had to survive a disallowed Edmonton goal before finally getting the instant win as shown in this here video lede. Speaking of ledes, this one is rambling and disorganized and distressingly long, but it does fit the mood of how this particular game unfolded! Go Kings Go! Continue reading
