Still listening to certain songs & groups some 40 yrs. later. Are we stunted like that, or is it that we prefer the eternal & long-lasting over the faddish? Fads are bad! Crypto, NFT, fidget-spinners, the Macarena…ALL BAD! Stay away from fads & the people who are claiming to have the Holy Grail or proclaiming themselves to be the New Messiah. No good, Chollie, no good. Fads are bad; stay away. Look for the things that are quality & eternal & that will last a good bit of time, like 40 yrs.’ worth.
So, same songs, but way-different externals! If you told us 40 yrs. ago we’d be listening to this song, OK; fair enough. But if you bet us that we’d be listening to it while swimming laps in a David Hockney-adjacent swimming pool at the top of Nichols Canyon beneath midcentury eaves on a brilliantly golden & sunny day in La-La Land, well, hey. We would have booked that wager — and we would have lost!

But the catch is, you have to stay in the game in the first place. Stay in the game! And there you’ll be, listening to your songs from 40 yrs. earlier under some hopefully pleasant circumstances.
