This is the marquee matchup now, your 2025 Nat’l. League Div. Series. Our hometown team hosting our adopted-hometown team. This household is divided, with native Angeleno sharing the living quarters staunchly for her Blue during Red October. One of us will survive, or maybe not!

Hey! Did you know the highway officially called U.S. 101 North (known here in La-La Land simply as ‘the one-o-one’) is really part of westbound Ventura Blvd. in Encino? The signage in today’s photo lede seems to suggest just that!

Back to glorious…

Regrets for the long delay in posting. No we were not Raptured; nor were we Disappeared to the sub-Saharan Africa. However, we were both Raptured AND Disappeared to a far more ambivalent place we’re calling ‘Stepgrandparent Land’, in which we were entrusted to make sure a small child was neither Raptured nor Disappeared. Get it? Got it? Good googly moogly! (With apologies to the late, great Whitman Mayo, who doubtless will be found among the elect when the Rapture is here; unless his corpse has been Disappeared to sub-Saharan Africa, in which case that might be the end of him.)

As well, the recent hot temperatures here in sunny Southern California have been Disappeared, though without the need for ICE, thankfully. Maybe ICE will be Raptured while they’re doing their Disappearing. Come on, Jesus! Come get your boyzzzzz! Bring them to a place that will be better for all of us.

A time when even Benjamin J. Stein & Jimmie Kimmel Jnr. could stand each other…

Yea, verily. Jm. Kimmel was kind to us on stage once, preventing our 10 little piggies from being sheared off by a fast-moving, iron-safe-bearing cart shoved toward our tootsies by one Mistah Ben. J. Stein, Snr. Scrub-on over to the 3:55 mark of this obscure 1999 Comedy Central promotional ad (look quick; there’s 30-frames-a-second, but it’s a split-second!) to see us begin our eventually redeeming TV-game-show career, to which there is no possible current route of return.

Your No. London Arse began its 2025-26 UEFA Champions League campaign this evening with a visit to Athletic Club Bilbao. After an agonizingly frustrating first two-thirds of the match, the Gunners finally got loose on the counteroffensive via the heel-showing speed of Gabriel Martinelli — scrub on over to the 6:53 mark of today’s video lede — who took a long ball in full stride before shooting one that squeezed past the ’keeper. Then in an opposite style, Leandro Trossard — at the 8:10 mark of this video — seemingly had an eon in the area before settling on a toe-poke that crashed off the post and in. The final from Basque Country, Athletic Club nil, Arsenal F.C. two. #COYG

Final night of the 2025 amphitheater season two nights ago, Friday, and it was a Yacht Rock revival with the probable originator of the genre, Christopher Cross, opening for Top-40 all-timers Chicago. After years of only hearing them only on AM radio, transistor AM radio, no less, this was a revelation; there’s actually some low-frequencies in their music, and they can really jam! Nice.
