Some of today’s races went this way…

At Ozone Park, N.Y., #4 Mermaid (.225 Win Prob / 3.44-1 Fair Odds / 4.20-1 Premium Odds) won Race 6 for Hans Christian Andersen, Ariel etc. at $11.02. Next race there, #2 Village Person (.256 / 2.91 / 3.57) won it for the Construction Worker (or maybe the Traffic Cop) at $10.26; your winning $57.28 daily double had a premium price of $47.52.

In the Stickney, Ill., opener, #4 Escovedo (.476 / 1.10 / 1.39) won it for Tejas rock-’n’-rollers the world over at $4.80. In Race 6, #5 Winging Ways (.292 / 2.42 / 2.90) landed in the winner’s circle at $8.40.

Another opener, this time from Shelbyville, Ind., where #5 Tigrado (.705 / 0.42 / 0.62) won it for shearling at $5.40. In Race 3, #2 The Exodus Twist (.667 / 0.50 / 0.71) won it for Leon Uris & Charlton Heston at $4.20. In Race 6, #5 Low Moon (.388 / 1.58 / 2.02) was nevertheless higher than the rest at $6.60.

Race 6 from No. Randall, Ohio, had #6 Midnight Warship (.245 / 3.08 / 3.78) winning it for the Strait of Hormuz at $12.40.
