The sun here is something else. If you don’t start shooting just after dawn or just before sunset, even ISO 100 might start drifting into overexposure unless you narrow the aperture and speed-up the shutter; unreal. However, this ungodly incandescence came in handy for the telephoto close-ups we were pointing toward. Yes, we all know the superzoom is a parlor trick, a novelty, and not a serious picture-box; nonetheless, by jamming our back into a wall, bending the knees a little and widening the stance just past shoulder-width, bracing ourselves to bear the brunt of an imaginary onrushing water buffalo or just a yippy chihuahua even, we held this thing steady enough to fire-off a reasonably clear snap at 83x optical zoom, or a focal length of approx. 2000mm., with the sun giving us enough the needed exposure at that distance to keep the shutter fast enough for us to that to avoid pretty much any trace of blur, and without the added graininess of a higher-speed ISO. Allahu akbar!
