Nassim Nicholas Taleb had the right idea about the misguided emphasis on ‘narrative’ when it comes to making predictions…BEWARE of the GLIB!

Thank you!

BestLine Racing Society Recap:

Some post-press-time connections to report from last night’s (Sunday’s) late action: At Nisku, Calgary, Alta., Race 5 went to #3 Bakfire Baby (.337 Win Prob / 1.97-1 Fair Odds / 2.56-1 Premium Odds) at $16.80; completing your winning $66.10 exacta was #4 Get Bakk (.207 / 3.83 / 5.76), with the premium price on this bak-bak-chicken comboa (comboa!) being $34.61. At New Cumberland, W.Va., #7 It’s Only Money (.236 / 3.24 / 4.08) nevertheless got the lion’s share of the purse (but not the wagering dollars!) at $22-even. Next race there, #8 Lady Gangster (.373 / 1.68 / 2.22) won it for Ma Barker & Bonnie Parker at $17-even. (Despite these scores occurring in consecutive races, there was no rolling double on offer; plus, the name ‘Lady Gangster’ makes us think of Faye Dunaway, so, since we have that image in our head, along with the injustice of the absence of rolling daily doubles at Mountaineer Park, in New Cumberland, W.Va., we are almost obligated to utter this unforgettable cinematic last-line: ‘FORGET IT, JAKE! IT’S MOUNTAINTOWN!’ (where, more frequently than most other places, the scenario of a woman’s child being both her sister AND her daughter plays-out; sorry, this is gratuitous; once in a while, it comes out; RUMI grants us absolution, so long as we acknowledge the shadow-self!).

Today, another complete slate, and now we have nine tracks running to begin each work week during the spring-summer months. Action, Jackson!

Race 2 at Bossier City, La., had #6 Bet On Bobby (.287 / 2.48 / 3.18) winning it for the constabulary at $15-even.

At Bensalem Twp., Penna., #5 Flamingo Way (.345 / 1.90 / 2.48) won Race 9 for Hialeah at $10-even.

Finally, from No. Randall, Ohio, #6 Trama Queen (.266 / 2.76 / 3.51) ruled Race 2 at $14.20.
