Dignity in disappointment…

Declan Rice nearly made the difference in his first season with The Arsenal, but it was too much to do to overcome the rampant disregard the asterisked-champs (four years’ running now, four years’ of The Powers That Be looking the other way, MBS / Jared Kushner-levels of flouting) have for any putative financial-fair-play regulations that most of the other teams in your English Premier League choose to abide by. Speaking of fair play, well-done by The Gunners on another fine campaign; someday these sportswashing petrostates will get their ignominious due: LIV, PSG, Qatar World Cup, etc. As these fútbol diehards are fond of saying, ‘We go again in August. We go again…’

Never get too gutted about sports teams losing, wagers losing, etc. A pandemic will give you the proper perspective on what’s worth fretting over, though anger at injustice still comes through, though not as passionately or vehemently. As well, losing important people in your life provides some scope & depth to your existence, and things that get other people all riled-up, well, you understand better that it’s more than acceptable, many times, to just to smile and say, ‘OK’ and then walk-on down the road…
