BestLine Racing Society Recap:

One post-press-time connection to report from last night’s (Friday’s) late action: At Grantville, Penna., #3 Millrose (.456 Win Prob / 1.19-1 Fair Odds / 1.63-1 Premium Odds) won Race 6 for the track-and-field athletes at $10-even; your winning $529.80 daily double had a premium price of $38.13.

A giant slate today, something like 27 tracks in session, more than 250 races, over 2,000 runners going. It was an exercise in eustress, bordering on hormesis. We did what we could. We arrived alive on the other side. We won’t need to do anything approaching this sort of volume for a long time, if ever.

Starting as we frequently do at Ozone Park, N.Y., where Race 7 had #6 Poppy’s Pride (.335 / 1.99 / 2.58) winning it for Flanders Fields at $20-even.

Big day at Louisville, Ky., now, and Race 9 had #2 Trikari (.125 / 7.00 / 8.60) shocking the world at a gigantic $96.34.

At Albany, Calif., #3 The Fuss (.287 / 2.48 / 3.18) won Race 3 at $8.60; completing your winning $29.80 exacta was #6 R Heart of Gold (.262 / 2.82 / 3.58), with the premium price on that comboa (comboa!) being $29.12.

At Hallandale Beach, Fla., #3 Heir to the Roar (.220 / 3.55 / 5.36) made the most noise in Race 3 at $12.80; completing your winning $97.60 exacta was #6 Foxy Lady (.266 / 2.76 / 3.51), with the premium price on that comboa (comboa!) being $48.34.

At Stickney, Ill., #1 Jet Flight (.222 / 3.50 / 5.31) took off and landed in the winner’s circle in the opener at $24.40.

At Shelbyville, Ind., #5 Otis On the Cape (.300 / 2.33 / 3.00) won Race 6 for the Army Nat’l. Guard at $20.60; completing your winning $76.60 exacta was #3 Centauro (.339 / 1.95 / 2.54), with the premium price on that comboa (comboa!) being $21.24.

At Laurel, Md., #5 Passioned (.246 / 3.07 / 4.69) had that intense feeling of winning Race 6 at $23.20; completing your winning $41.40 exacta was #4 Work Hard (.531 / 0.88 / 1.26), with the premium price on that comboa (comboa!) being $21.19.

At Arcadia, Calif., #4 Hero Status (.334 / 1.99 / 2.59) ran to that billing in Race 2 at $11.60. Next race there, #3 Rexford (.273 / 2.66 / 3.40) won it for the tree-lined streets of Beverly Hills, Calif., at $22.40; your winning $167.60 daily double had a premium price of $31.59.

At Oldsmar, Fla., #11 El Rojo Vivo (.217 / 3.61 / 4.53) was your red-hot upsetter in Race 4 at $30.20; completing your winning $259.40 exacta was #13 Rebel Joke (.143 / 5.99 / 7.39), with the premium price on that comboa (comboa!) being $76.01. In Race 8, #11 Skipperini (.136 / 6.35 / 9.29) commanded the surprise at $31.60; completing your winning $104.80 exacta was #1 Initforthelove (.271 / 2.69 / 3.43), with the premium price on that comboa (comboa!) being $82.30.

At Bell Rd., Phoenix, #4 Hold Your Applause (.164 / 5.10 / 6.32) clapped-back at his Race 5 rivals at $26-even; completing your winning $87-even exacta was #5 Vinniebob (.185 / 4.41 / 5.49), with the premium price on that comboa (comboa!) being $82.03.

Finally, at Etobicoke Intl., the opener went to #6 Tabloid Material (.450 / 1.22 / 1.67), beneficiary of two shocking late-late scratches, at $5.90.
