A couple of post-press-time connections to report from last night’s (Saturday’s) late action: At Collinsville, Ill., Race 5 went to #2 Span (.332 Win Prob / 2.01-1 Fair Odds / 2.61-1 Premium Odds) at $12-even. In Race 7, #4 Ginsburned (.237 / 3.22 / 4.06) also supplied the winning tonic at $11.60.
As for today (Sunday), it was all in-play, save for Nebraska, New Mexico & The O.C.
Starting as we often do in Ozone Park, N.Y., for Race 6, in which #5 Five to Two (.261 / 2.83 / 3.60) won at four-and-a-half-to-one, paying $11.60 up top.
At Hallandale Beach, Fla., #4 Pure Speight (.212 / 3.72 / 4.66) showed same to his Race 4 rivals at $12.40; completing your winning $186.40 exacta was #5 Menelik (.226 / 3.42 / 4.31), with the premium price on that comboa (comboa!) being $49.48.
In the Laurel, Md., opener, #7 Utterly Enchanting (.200 / 4.00 / 6.00) was delightful in a $14.60 surprise. In Race 7, #6 Take Charge Too (.171 / 4.85 / 7.19) indeed did so at $19.80.
Another opener, this time from Oldsmar, Fla., where #5 Benvolio (.287 / 2.48 / 3.18) was good to his backers at $13.40.
