What gets measured…gets done…gets gone!

Oh, it was marvelous fun, for sure. It wasn’t something we were proud of, no, but we rather liked it!

But people enjoy & are fueled by unconscious addictions of all kinds — booze, pills, substances, TV, slot-machine mesmerization, physical love, being angry, you-name-it. And then when the liking gets done and all the parties are finished, maybe some grace gets dropped on your big fat head & you realize that you’ve irretrievably lost something during your surrender to all that oversized desire for amusement, entertainment, relief-from-reality.

True, you learn some funny stuff from the SOcial MEdias (always grateful to have been exposed to the Real Housewives Cat meme (!) & Crying Jordan, etc.), and you learn some interesting bits of information (in our case, some wild fun-with-numbers in the world of sports stats). But more and more the rewarding bits from all that unbridled scrolling were getting fewer & farther between, like seeking to find the corn in the proverbial dreck, with the proverbial dreck becoming more and more objectionable & prevalent.

So, we did what we had to do, and maybe all that extra time we now have on our twitchy thumbs will be put to some higher & better use. Inshallah. Shantih, shantih, shantih.
