Still getting the balance right on the new Big Pharma solution for brain-chemistry imbalance, and this is one of the positives, so far…
Prior to the diagnosis & attempted remedy, these kind of swims used to be much more difficult to endure; the mental mind was often trying to short-circuit the physical body! The mental mind was all over the place, thinking of every possible strategy of avoiding the entirety of the physical body’s task at hand. But now, after about six weeks of titration and adaptation, we are finally beginning to be one with the water; the physical body is overcoming the mental mind, as it should be in any endeavor of exercise and fitness.
Likewise our recent exploits on the courts of real tennis, not this picklenickle ripoff imitation. Real tennis requires hard serves and all-out running at times, and again, as with the aforementioned swimming process, the physical body is blessedly shutting-out any chatter from the mental mind. The resultant increase in exit velo, first-service accuracy and ferocity, plus the retriever-like doggedness to run down wide topsinning balls and the inspired leaps and jump on the backhand volley for lobs and passing shots, well, all of it has been startling and encouraging.
Someday this should transfer to the professional pursuits, the ones in which the mental mind needs to have priority over the physical body. Sometimes in the professional pursuits, the mental-mind still gets short-circuited by twitchiness and outbursts by the physical body — no good, Chollie, no good. But part of the problem remains trying to figure out what professional and occupational pursuits to prioritize, identifying which ones make the emotional heart sing and the mental mind hum.
Inshallah we shall get there.
