Nick Foles did not win this time.
A week later, the bounces went the other way for the Philalala Iggles and their jawns — jawns! Looks like the immortal Nick Foles (a k a BIG [RICHARD] NICK) is a good guy, between his humility and encouragement, never making the thing about himself. From what we observe of people in the public eye these days, it’s all about them, all the time, and the World Revolves Around Them. Not so for the immortal Nick Foles. His consoling of Alshon Jeffery on the sideline said as much. Nice to see some humanity from some celebrities yesterday. Real nice. We root for Nick Foles wherever he goes now. Vale!
Yesterday:
Fair Grounds 7
#8 Broth ($26.60, BestLine Fair Odds 5.49-1)
Santa Anita 1 (Low-Priced Overlay of the Day)
#4 Diamond Blitz ($12, BestLine Fair Odds 3.35-1)
Race 1 at Santa Anita was diagnosed (!) as contentious, and three calculated overlays emerged; the race proved a winner, but of course it was the shortest price of the three prevailing at a 38pc positive edge. Race 5 was also wide-open, and the single overlay ran fourth at 10-1. Race 7 was also of the random-type, and four overlays were up-the-track, with the best finishing third at 10-1. Next time!
