R.I.P., Dallas Green. Scrub over to 3:14 and play-out to 5:14. This was a good franchise, the Ruly Carpenter III (L’ville ’58, probably, or a loose affiliation at least, since we remember our disbelief in seeing him in the stands at an ’murrikan Gridiron Throwball game on campus one time) 1970s-1980s Philadelphia Phillies, owned by true old-money patricians and not showoff arrivistes. Nice to the see the humility and emotion and weeping after the biggest moment of their lives. All good Irishmen here. Not the Irish-in-name-only Paul Ryan kind. R.I.P., Dallas Green. Have a good embrace and a bottle or many with your Irish buddies Pope & Tugger up there. Laugh and weep with the true Irish legends of Philalala sport. R.I.P., Dallas Green.
