Form is temporary, class is permanent. Witness the men’s and women’s finals at this year’s big lawn-tennis tournament in Melbourne. Age, injuries, autoimmune diseases could not stop the Williams Sisters, Rogerr Federr, Rafa ‘The Bull’ Nadal. ’grats to the Fed. Too good. Fair play to him. Rafa, always fighting, is willing to ‘suffer’ (his word) on the court. Form is temporary, any mope can get lucky for one or two tourneys or even a season; class is permanent, as evidenced by multiple majors and winning majors after age 30. Form is temporary, class is permanent.

As well, it is always good to remember the words of New Order from ‘World in Motion’: ‘When something’s good, it’s never gone…’ Form is temporary, class is permanent. Never forget.
