Like another famous and frequently played Symphony No. 9, this never gets old. We will miss this sort of high-culture when funding to the Arts & Humanities in ’murrika goes bye-bye. The costs of commerce-commerce-commerce are high. Mammon is never satisfied with the sacrifices you bring Him. He always wants more.

Here’s a fine explainer:

Note the bits about ‘Native American and African-American traditions’ influencing the indigenous themes of the symphony. Fantastic.

Yesterday’s Activity:

Track (Win Mutuels $20+/Gettable)

Aqueduct (2/1) — Race 5 was not contentious, but High-Octane Chancers and Progressive-Minded Eggheads were forced to submit to Dual Qualifier Bullheaded Boy (99, 95), aptly named for First Day of The New Administration — hail!; he rallied hard, though, to win by 4¼ at $23.60. Good work.

Chas. Town (2/0) — Eastern Panhandle residents travel from Cardiac Alley to attend Trump swearing-in.

Delta (1/0) — Water on U.S. 190 in Reeves; tree down on Topsy Bell Rd.

Fair Grounds (0/0) — Host Pelicans stomped by Bklyn., 143-114; Anthony Davis led New Orleans with 22 pts.

Golden Gate (0/0) — Visiting Warriors trounce Houston, 125-108; The City’s Kevin Durant led all scorers with 32 pts.

Gulf (1/0) — Visiting Panthers edged by Vancouver, 2-1; Jaro Jagr, still in the league, had the Fla. goal.

Sam Houston (1/1) — Race 5 was contentious, but only High-Octane Chancers and Progressive-Minded Eggheads took the leap on Hop In, 81 on the LifeLiner Speed Column analysis; he rallied like the champion he should have been, winning by 2 at $29.20. Good work.

Los Alamitos (0/0) — Host Jakers beat Indpls., 108-96; Louis Williams led all scorers with 27 pts. for La-La Land.

Oaklawn (2/0) — Ark. unemployment rate dips below 4pc in Dec., not great enough, apparently.

PennNat (0/0) — Host 76ers edge Portland, 93-92; Ersan Ilyasova led Philalala with 24 pts.

Santa Anita (0/0) — See Los Alamitos commentary.

Sunland (0/0) — Las Cruces charter schools struggling, Ed. Dept. says; more on way in U-S-A! U-S-A!

Tampa (2/1) — Race 6 was not contentious, but High-Octane Chancers and Progressive-Minded Eggheads went to the big roundup with My Cowboy, 81 on the LifeLiner Spread Column analysis; he went gate-to-wire to win by a clean neck at $20-straight. Good work.

Turfway (1/1) — Players of all stripes were drinking up Vino Scuro, Fair Odds of 6-1 and 84 on the LifeLiner Spread Column analysis, in a contentious Race 2; he had to rally, and hard, though, winning by a clean neck at $26.20. Good work.
