A long time ago, they were the Masters of Their Universe: Vanderbilt, Carnegie, Mellon, Stanford. They made their fortunes and were generous enough to bequeath some of their riches to foundations and museums and educational institutions larger than themselves. They live to this day. Even lesser lights like Harvey Mudd and Paul Tulane or even Oral Roberts and Jerry Falwell understood: a legacy is more than how much you can stuff down your trousers right now. Don Trump Sr. has not yet come to grasp this; he may yet, if he truly has the resources (doubtful) or the philanthropic spirit (even more doubtful).

As well, new Trump Sr. administration appointee Stephen K. Bannon emerges as a shining testament and praiseworthy example of the UT PROSIM ethos of Va. Poly. Univ., Blacksburg, Va. ’grats on such a fine product!
