Yesterday’s Activity:

Track (Win Mutuels $20+/Gettable)

Belmont (1/0) — Masked gunmen injure 4 in Brooklyn deli shooting.

Belterra (1/0) — Sen. Rob Portman pulls presidential endorsement.

Calder (2/½) — Old-School Champeens had the opener down via Horse Spotter Carl, 5-1 Fair Odds on a contentious Betting Line; he won by 2½ at $41.60. Good work.

Chas. Town (0/0) — Ground broken for new Valley Health Urgent Care in Ranson.

Delpark (2/1) — Race 4 was contentious, and Flatter Me Big had no Fair Odds, though he was a Dual Qualifier (88, 92); he went tail-to-wire to win by 5¾ at $24.20. Good work.

Finger (0/0) — Canandaigua man arrested for DWI.

Big Fresno Fair (1/0) — Visiting Giants lose again to Cubs, 5-2, and face 3 elimination games in NLDS; Brandon Belt and Gregor Blanco drove in the runs for San Francisco.

Hawthorne (3/2) — Race 2 was open to all comers via the Fair Odds of 5-1 on a contentious Betting Line and a 91 on the LifeLiner Speed Column analysis on Chica Bonita; she rallied like the champion she should have been, winning by 1 at $23-even. Race 8 had Dual Qualifier Won’tualwayswonder (99, 83) unavailable to the Old-School Champeens but more than fair game for the High-Octane Chancers and Progressive-Minded Eggheads; he was already involved by 9/16-pole before hanging on to win by a clean nose at $30.60. Good work.

Keeneland (1/1) — Even with the great Tepin entered in Race 7, it was contentious, and Dual Qualifier Photo Call (83, 86) also had Fair Odds of 3-1; she went gate-to-wire to win by 2¾ at $61.40. Good work.

Los Alamitos (0/0) — 91 West back open after 2 hrs. following crash in Anaheim.

Lethbridge (0/0) — Mechanical inspection underway after Air Canada flight aborts takeoff in Calgary.

Laurel (2/½) — Race 8 had Sun Boy for the Old-School Champeens, Fair Odds of 5-1 on a contentious Betting Line, but without LifeLiner backing; he won by 3½ at $21-even. Good work.

Meadowlands (1/½) &mash; Same scenario as in the Laurel commentary, except Meadowlands occurred in Race 2, and the horse was named Fairbanks E Jet and the Fair Odds on her were 6-1; she won by 3 parts of a length at $35.60. Good work.

Mountain (1/1) — All types rewarded by No Free Ride in a contentious Race 9; her Fair Odds were 6-1, and she had the competitive 84 on the LifeLiner Speed Column analysis. She won by a clean neck at $21.40. Good work.

Northlands (2/2) — No Old-School Champeen successes on the card — only for High-Octane Chancers and Progressive-Minded Eggheads. Race 3 was contentious, but there were no Fair Odds on Kissin Alley, who nonetheless was the field-best 88 on the LifeLiner Spread Column analysis; but she had to rally before winning by 4 at $55-even. In Race 6, Dual Qualifier Hardly Forgotten (86, 90) had no Fair Odds in a noncontentious lineup &mash; hoo-boy. He rallied like the champion he should have been, winning by 3 parts of a length at $25.40. Good work.

PennNat (1/0) — Country’s oldest, longest ordained priest dead at 104.

Keystone (2/½) — The opener was a slam-dunker for Old-School Champeens: Farrest Rim was on top, Fair Odds of 2½-1, so it did not matter whether the race was contentious. She went tail-to-wire to win by $33.20. Good work.

Retama (1/1) — The opener was a slam-dunker for all High-Minded Champeens. Shakemygrass, Fair Odds of 4-1 on a contentious Betting Line, also had a fine 92 on the LifeLiner Speed Column analysis; he was a nuisance throughout en route to a 1¾-length win at $33.60. Good work.

Remington (1/0) — NW 7th St. to be closed temporarily starting Monday.
