Woodbine 9, 10
Today’s Stakes Pageantry: Belmont 7, 8, 9, 10 on the free page. Keeneland 6, 7, 8, 9 on the pay-side.
Chas. Town going wild tonight. Race 1 has #8 R C’s Daisyduke and #3 C. D. Jammin as live longshots. #10 Cat Come Home can upset Race 4. The fifth finds #7 Madeitouttaharlan and #5 Harlan’s Destiny as viable crazy-priced options. #7 Gianna Bella, #1 Jacky&rsuqo;s Notion and #2 Shehasit Too are a bonkers-style trio in Race 6. In the seventh, #1 Nay’s Back can do it. Race 8 has #6 Start Line in with a chance. But in the ninth, the obvious #2 Unaquoi looks too good.
Yesterday’s Activity:
Track (Win Mutuels $20+/Gettable)
Belmont (0/0) — Woman, 82, injured in midtown street robbery.
Belterra (0/0) — Bank-robbery suspect caught after manhunt.
Chas. Town (1/0) — Jefferson Co. sees increase in cases of hand-foot-and-mouth disease.
Big Fresno Fair (0/0) — Visiting Giants blanked by Cubs, 1-nil; Johnnie Cueto (8 IP, 3 H, 10 K) was the hard-luck loser for San Francisco.
Hawthorne (2/0) — See Big Fresno Fair commentary.
Indiana (2/2) — Race 2 was contentious but Archie’s Girl had no Fair Odds on the Betting Line; however, High-Octane Chancers and Progressive-Minded Eggheads saw she was a Dual Qualifier (83, 80), and she rallied like the champion she should have been, winning by 3¾ at $58.80. In Race 6, also contentious, Miss Catwood also did not have Fair Odds on the Betting Line; however, High-Octane Chancers and Progressive-Minded Eggheads noticed she was OK on the LifeLiner Spread Column analysis, and she went gate-to-wire to win by a clean half-length at $54.60. Good work.
Keeneland (2/0) — Police warning drivers about heavy rocks thrown on cars in Jessamine Co.
Los Alamitos (0/0) — Tower of Terror redesign revealed by Disney.
Lethbridge (1/0) — Fish and Wildlife investigating grizzly-bear death.
Laurel (3/0) — Host Nationals edged by La-La Land, 4-3; Anthony Rendon drove-in 2 for Wash., D.C.
Meadowlands (1/0) — Ex-Christie aide details infighting among staff.
Northlands (2/½) — Wild Crush had Fair Odds of 3-1 in a contentious Race 6; no LifeLiner Backing, but ’Crush won by a neck at $25.40 for the Old-School Champeens.
PennNat (0/0) — Harvey Taylor Bridge lanes reopen after crash.
Retama (3/2) — Race 3 was contentious for the High-Octane Chancers and Progressive-Minded Eggheads who saw the competitive 72 on the LifeLiner Speed Column analysis on Slats Choice, who had no Fair Odds; he rallied to win by a clean half-length at $48.20. In Race 8, not contentious, F J Uncle Vic had a just-good-enough 81 on the LifeLiner Spread Column analysis; he was forwardly placed before winning by 2½ at $28.40. Good work.
Remington (1/0) — Oklahoma leading nation in deadly police shootings.
Santa Anita (2/2) — Race 7 was not contentious, but High-Octane Chancers and Progressive-Minded Eggheads had a competitive 85 on the LifeLiner Spread Column analysis on Blue Tone, who went gate-to-wire to win by 4½ at $25-even. In Race 8, publicly touted Backintheacademy, no Fair Odds in a contentious race, had a just-good-enough 81 on the LifeLiner Spread Column analysis; she seized the lead at the three-eighths pole and held on to win by a clean neck at $60-straight. The natural late-double paid $345.60, for $2. Good work.
Thistle (1/0) — Host Indians blank Boston, 6-nil, take 2-0 series lead; Lonnie Chisenhall hit a 3-run HR.
Woodbine (0/0) — Visiting Blue Jays beat Tejas, 5-3, to go up 2-0 in series; Troy Tulowitzki had a 2-run HR for Toronto.
