All right, all right, ya Captain Canuckers! Take it easy! Wash down your back bacon with a couple of Export A’s and some Labatt Blue, eh?

Free ones: Rundown…

Belmont 5, 6, 7, 9
Gulfstream Park Proper 3

Pay-side (Weekend/Weekday): Today…

Arlington 2, 4, 5, 6, 8
Belterra 6
Churchill 1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 9, 10
Louisiana 2, 7
Laurel 3, 4, 6, 7, 9
Tampa 7, 8
Woodbine 4, 9

Today’s Stakes Pageantry:

In Hastings 2, we tiptoe around the morning-line choice and go instead with #3 Chianti, #4 C U At Eau Claire. In the sixth there, #5 Macho Babe gets the single call. #2 Midnite Poppa can outrun his fantastically high odds in Race 7. And in the eighth, we sidestep the morning-line fave and go instead with #4 Stanz in Command, #3 B C Charlie, #1 Lord Vancouver.

Yesterday’s Activity:

Track (Win Mutuels $20+/Gettable)

Belmont (0/0) — Jankees edge visiting Tejas, 2-1; Didi Gregorius hit a HR, a solo shot and his 8th of the season, for Nueva Jork.

Canterbury (3/1) — High-Octane Chancers had a Dual Qualifier to back in Trick City (88, 93) in a noncontentious fifth; she went gate-to-wire to win by a clean half-length at $23.80. Good work.

Churchill (2/1) — Publicly touted Taliaferro County was good for all types of players in the finale: Old-School Champeens (for whom ’County was atop the conventional, contentious V6 Betting Line at Fair Odds of 3-1); Progressive-Minded Eggheads (for whom ’County was one of ’em Dual Qualifier — 94, 85 — horseys); and, of course, High-Octane Chancers (for whom anything worth playing by Old-School Champeens and Progressive-Minded Eggheads is by default worth playing, and then some). ’County did not race up-front, had to rally like the champion she’s on her way to becoming; still, she did win by 1 at $23.80. Good work.

Chas. Town (2/0) — 4 contractors submit bids for proposed Inwood Bypass project.

Delpark (1/1) — Only High-Octane Chancers were going to take interest in Unbridled Lion in the nightcap; ’Lion had a competitive 83 on the LifeLiner Spread Column analysis in a noncontentious race, and he raced tail-to-wire to win by 1 at $23.40. Good work.

Evangeline (0/0) — 15-year-old St. Martin Parish boy arrested for robbing man and shooting him with BB gun.

Finger (0/0) — Ontario Co. Jail inmate accused of strangling fellow inmate.

Fair Meadows (0/0) — 2 injured after SUV is T-boned by semi on Broken Arrow Expressway.

Gulf (1/0) — Visiting Marlins lose to Braves, 8-5; Justin Bour had a 3-run HR in the loss.

Louisiana (1/1) — Publicly touted Cherishabull had a viable 71 on the LifeLiner Spread Column analysis in a contentious Race 7; she went flank-to-wire to win by a clean head at $27.60. Good work.

PennNat (0/0) — Man falls into waste reservoir on farm in Buffalo Twp., drowns.

Presque (1/0) — Millcreek Streets Dept. to close parts of W. 6th St. Thursday night.

Prairie (2/1) — Dual Qualifier No Holds Barred (91, 94) was in a contentious Race 6; he went gate-to-wire to win by 2½ at $30.20. Good work.

Santa Anita (2/2) — Race 3 was not contentious but High-Octane Chancers found Dual Qualifier Changing Karma (82, 80) irresistible; he raced tail-to-wire to win by 1½ at $20.40. In Race 7, contentious, Anytime Anyplace also was a Dual Qualifier (97, 85); he went flank-to-wire to win by 3 parts of a length at $27.40. Good work.

Tampa (1/0) — Host Rays lose to Detroit, 10-7; Nick Franklin drove-in 3 in the loss.

Dear Mr. Tom: Thank you for your card of condolences, which we received but were late to fetch. You have been a good friend for many years, and we smile when you write that you felt ‘like you knew her’. We appreciate your loyalty and concern. Thank you again.
