Bough-bender

A frequent neighborhood visitor, just like the lizards and the coyotes and the garter snakes he must terrorize. Look at that beak. As well, you should see his talons. He seems to be one of these red-tailed hawks; his wingspan is all about the enveloping!

Today’s Stakes Pageantry: Open in Prairie 8 now, and we sidestep the top two morning-line choices and go instead with the all-immigrant-named lineup of #1 Ciaran’s Prize, #5 Fioretti and #2 Donita’s Ruler. On the other hoof, in the next race there, #2 Thrilled looks like a legitimate fave.
