First Post: Sunday, March 20, 2016

As we do every year on Palm Sunday, we kindly remind you to listen to the entirety of ‘The Greatest Album Ever Made’: Ocean Rain by Echo & The Bunnymen.

Forget about live televised events regarding the Passion of Jesus Christ. The album Ocean Rain is superior in every way. Play it on a continuous loop for the next eight days of your Holy Week 2016. You will not regret it.

Building a world where we can
Purify our misfit ways
And magnify our crystal days.

‘Crystal days’. Genius.

Free ones: Rundown…

Aqueduct 7, 8, 9
Gulfstream Park Proper 7, 9, 11
Santa Anita 2, 6, 9

Pay-side (Weekday/Weekend): Today…

Fair Grounds 4, 6, 7, 10
Laurel 6
Oaklawn 8
Tampa 8, 10
Turfway 3, 4, 5, 7
Turf Paradise 6

Today’s Stakes Pageantry: Big day at Sunland. Race 4 has the obvious #3 Dirt Monster standing out. Race 8 is wild-open, though, wild-open, and #8 Naomi can win it for her mother-in-law Ruth.

Yesterday’s Activity:

Track (Win Mutuels $20+/Gettable)

Aqueduct (1/0) — Knickerbockers out west in Sac’to, Northern Cal, Sac’to, Northern Cal today.

Chas. Town (1/0) — Mountaineers demolished in opening round of NCAA men’s hoopball tournament on Friday.

Fair Grounds (0/0) — Tulane Green Wave women’s basketball goes again on Monday, against Ga. Poly in second round of NIT tournament.

Fonner (1/1) — Super Tornado got the win(d) in Race 10 as the top LifeLiner Speed Column entry in a noncontentious race. High-Octane Chancers would have been there for the $25.40 score.

Golden Gate (0/0) — 4-seed Cal fails to win any games in men’s NCAA hoopball tournament.

Gulf (5/2½) — Something for everyone. Race 3 was for the High-Octane Chancers: Smoking the Field ran to that billing in a noncontentious race; however, the qualifying 82 was there on the LifeLiner Speed Column analysis, and the High-Octane Chancers were not going to let it get by at $63.80 up top. Good job. In Race 6, a contentious race, winner Eminent Force, $38.60, was your Dual Qualifier (99, 86) and was a grab for the hybrid contentious-race/LifeLiner Speed Column & LifeLiner Spread Column modernists. Good job. And in the finale, Little John W rewarded the Old-School Champeens as a straight-edge overlay (Fair Odds of 5-1 in a contentious Betting Line without any LifeLiner support) returning $49.80. On all three accounts, good job.

Hawthorne (3/1) — Dual Qualifier Won’tualwayswonder ($22.20) redeemed a contentious finale.

Los Alamitos (1/0) — Anaheim trails La-La Land by 6 pts. with a game in hand in the Pacific Division of the Western Conference of the Big-League Ice Hockey standings.

Laurel (1/1) — Dual Qualifier Big Zapple (82, 83) was King of The NetCapper Bullies Nightcap at $34.40. The race was not contentious, but High-Octane Chancers would not have been deterred.

Mahoning (1/0) — Ohio U. defeats Va. Poly in Second Round of women’s NIT hoopball tournament. Sorry, Ned Reldem, Esq. R.I.P., Wolfman.

Oaklawn (2/2) — These were straightforward, actually — no High-Octane Chancers necessary. In the opener, G P&rsuqo;s Girl had the barely sufficient 81 on the LifeLiner Spread Column analysis; but the race was contentious, and G P’s Girl went gate-to-wire to win by 3 at $42-even. Then in Race 4, first-timer Tessa’s Heart had the sufficient connection-line readout of 21pc/13pc/15pc in a contentious affair: $31.20 up top.

PennNat (0/0) — Keystone State ice-hockey showdown goes to the Flightless Birds, 4-1, over the Grounded Flyers. The Chef had the right horse in this one. ’grats.

Keystone (0/0) — See PennNat commentary.

Santa Anita (2/2) — No public tout forthcoming on Race 7 winner Emotional Drive, $57.80, owing to a noncontentious race-shape — regrets! However, High-Octane Chancers would have put the cowboy boot to the accelerator and smashed through the roadblock by noting that Emotional Drive had the good-enough 87 on the LifeLiner Spread Column analysis. And Emotional Drive attended the running all the way around en route to a win by three parts of a length. Publicly touted Cardiac had the gate-to-wire triumph in the finale, a contentious setup, courtesy of an 84 in the LifeLiner Spread Column; he paid $34.20. Mark ’im up!

Sunland (2/0)Better Call Saul not being watched by The Boys In The Backroom — regrets! Not enough time for such quality amusements! Sorry!

Tampa (1/0) — Lightning blank Coyotes, 2-nil; Ben Bishop turned back all 32 shots he faced.

Turfway (1/1) — High-Octane Chancers had the same scenario going in Race 2 here as they did in Race 7 at Santa Anita: noncontentious race with a LifeLiner Speed Column qualifier. In the Turfway instance, it was Rock in Bage, 81, who paid $58-straight for your upset.

Turf Paradise (0/0) — See Tampa commentary.
