Frantic City for the Water Buffalo Convention.

The water buffalo. A most underrated beast. Also, remember the Kintetsu Buffaloesz?

Strong but quiet, competent but modest. Hail the water buffalo!

Free ones: Rundown…

Frantic City 1, 3, 4, 5, 6
Aqueduct 4, 6, 9
Gulf 8
Santa Anita 2, 5

Pay-side: Today…

Golden Gate 6, 8
Hawthorne 7, 9
Keeneland 2, 4, 7, 9, 10
Lone Star 1, 4, 5, 7, 9
Pimlico 3, 6, 8, 9
Tampa 1, 5

Today’s Stakes Pageantry: Kee 9 is on the pay-side.

Nice one tonight at Evangeline, Race 8, and we’ll sidestep the top two morning-line choices, preferring #2 Sandsarita, #8 Little Ms Protocol, #7 Miss Addison.

Yesterday’s Activity: All right, all right, ya Frantic City loversz! Take it easy.

Got lucky in the first race of the meet, as two horseys scratched and original Second Bonkersmate Pac Yer Tack was elevated to a sole tout.

Well, he won, $32.40 up top. Originally, the race was contentious, and anything went. However, after the raceday scratches were processed, the race became not-contentious, and one horsey stood out, vis-a-vis the Betting Line.

The raceday scratches were not known at the time the touting was published. So, yes, that was a lucky strike. It happens. Both ways.

As always, Welcome to The Home of The Runner-Up Finish, this time almost led by sole-touted Village Princess in Race 3 at Frantic City.

Village Princess, 8-1 on the morning line, was disregarded by the V6 Betting Line but turned out to be the one qualified horsey on the LifeLiner Speed Column Analysis. She was not that close to the winner, but was runner-up in the 11-horse field at 15-1.

Also running with honour without winning was Second Bonkersmate Taperrific. Like Village Princess, Taperrific was not rated highly on the V6 Betting Line but possessed a satisfactory LifeLiner Speed Column analysis rating of 81. Taperrific was sent away at 21-1 on the toteboard and finished second-best of 12 runners.

The winner, 5½-1, also was OK on the LifeLiner Speed Column analysis, and the backup exactor paid $188.40, for $2, for 5½-1 over 21-1 in a 12-horse field.

A winner over at the Keeneland, Race 6, Afortable, $40.40-straight.

Afortable, coming off nearly seven months away, was another neglected by the conventional V6 Betting Line. Yet Afortable was top-rated on the LifeLiner Speed Column analysis, 96.

Afortable, 12-1 on the morning line and 19-1 in real life, won by a dirty neck, and the runner-up was the 7-5 fave, also LifeLiner-eligible, with the exacta paying $175, for $2, longshot on top of the fave in a 12-horsey field.

The show-horse also was OK on LifeLiner Speed, and the triactor returned $1,173, for $2.

Finally, another runner-up instance in Pim 5, courtesy of Bonkersmate Cash Bear, 17-1 for your place-horse effort. No good on the winner, though. Sorry! Regretsz!
