Mostly incompetent or else done in by lifestyle issues. Remember Camden Jimmie Florio’s inglorious four years? How about Jimmie McGreevey? The last elected Democrat Governor of N.J. not named Jimmie was the lucky Irishman Brendan Byrne, who received the great honour of having a sports arena named after him while he was living.

We had conservative, Morton Downey Jr.-viewing Irish friends who could not stand Gov. Byrne. They railed at what he did at one of his campaign stops: inside a Roman Catholic cathedral, Candidate Byrne started shaking hands with the citizens in the pews — in the middle of a Mass being celebrated! And Byrne was a Catholic!

So is C. Christie. Byrne was just hapless. Now we have bulliesz. So it boils down to Hapless or Bully? Come on, New Jersey! Can’t you do better than that!
