Today’s Stakes Pageantry: RP 8 on the pay-side.

And in Delta 8, #5 Bahnah appears too strong as one of ’em — yup, you guessed it — vaunted Triple Threat Horseys. Uh-oh.

Yesterday’s Activity: Ah, a quiet afternoon and evening. However, there was a Ned Reldem, Esq., sighting.

Yea, verily, Att. Reldem ventured from his fortress in Loudon Co., Va., home of the plutogarchs and olicratsz, to an undisclosed OTB site near to his alma mater, Va. Poly.

Again, Reldem, being taught to think like a lawyer, finds any way he can to get the longshots home. Even when a race looks noncontentious, he is willing to give reasonable doubt to any 20-1 or higher runner with even a shred of evidence in his or her favor.

So it was in Kee 5, via Fleet Beat. The Betting Line dynamic looked solid for top-rated Homeboykris, 8-5 Fair Odds and with a large gap to the second-rated horsey whose Fair Odds were 3½-1.

However, the star witness against Fleet Beat was a lowly LifeLiner Speed number. In the case of Homeboykris, a measly 70 in a race studded with high LifeLiner Speed Column performers. Now what?!

For Reldem, Fleet Beat was good enough. Perhaps the Betting Line was off-kilter and LifeLiner was the way to go. And this time he was rewarded.

For the record, no word on whether he hit the $171 exacta or the $1,962 trizacta, both quoted for $2. But, yes, the runner-up and the show-horse in this race indeed qualified on the LifeLiner Speed Column too.

Thank you, Ned Reldem, Esq., for your innovative contributions and interpretations of the V6 output. We envy that oversized Ashkenazi brain of yours! Too bad quick-twitch muscle reflexes (buzzer reflexes! signaling-button reflexes! lockout-device reflexes!) don’t fetch as much on the open market!

Outcome-oddity at Keeneland as three races were selected for touting, each with a single touted horsey. All three finished fourth! Come on, Lexington, Ky.! Firing up America! And the superfecta! Odds on the trio, respectively in Races 1, 7 & 9: 48-1, 29-1, 13-1. Next time!

One solitary winner in RP 8: top-touted Track That Cat, $12-even. It happens.
