Channeling His Inner Bruce Lee…Be the Water!

The Jamie Moyer for A New Generation? Age 36, two strong starts in a row now, 1.97 ERA overall, at least 10 good years remaining! Poster Boy for the AARP (Advanced-Age Relief Pitchersz!) Kansas City, represent!

Free ones: Rundown…

Saratoga Race Course 3, 5, 7
Del Mar Thoroughbred Club 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8

Pay-side: Today…

Delpark 2, 3, 5, 6, 8
Suffolk 8
Woodbine 4, 6

Today’s Stakes Pageantry: The outcome will have been decided by press time, but vaunted Triple Threat Horsey status is bestowed upon #2 Montana Native in Sar 2, the Broom Dance.

Later there, the ninth is the Grade II Lake George, and it seems to be a showdown between the obvious pair.

Inscrutable Race 7 at Del Mar Thoroughbred Club, the Wickerr. Only two horseys seem incapable. Have fun!

Yesterday’s Activity: Only one track on the pay-side yesterday, only two races sniffed out, yet…

Suffolk opener, two touted horseys in one of those spiffy Bonkers Exacta Boxes. Those touted were CINDYrella and Consolacion Sur, in that order. It was one of those wild bottom-level claimers at E. Boston, and pretty much all the horseys had some reasonable chance; however, one of those we could not abide by was the morning-line fave! That morning-line fave went off as the second-choice in the public wagering.

Back to CINDYrella and Consolacion Sur. They were the top two on the Betting Line, identical fair odds of 3-1. They had identical morning-line odds, too: 8-1. As well, they both qualified on LifeLiner speed, too.

CINDYrella got knocked down to 4½-1 on the toteboard, but Consolacion Sur got away at 13-1. They ran one-two (what else would you expect from a horsey named “Consolacion”?), win mutuel of $11.20 and cold-puncher’s perfecta of $109.80. Trifecta was completed by another LifeLiner qualifier: $344.20 for $2.

As always, Welcome to The Home of The Runner-Up finish, this time led by Cool Bay in the opener at Fairmount. Cool Bay actually led in the final furlong before settling for the place-spot. This was at 27-1, from a morning line of 20-1. Unfortunately, the exacta was a lost cause as the other two LifeLiner qualifiers could not step it up. Thanks! Thanks a lot!

Finally, a King of the NetCapper Bulliesz special at Presque. In the finale, first Bonkersmate Salt On the Rim. 10-1 on the morning line and 13-1 in real life, went gate-to-wire at $28-even. Amazingly, the place-horse, the 4-5 fave, was no good vis-à-vis the LifeLiner!
