Continued hot…

Reports of snow this morning in Des Moines, temperature 32°F. Today in Studio City, 92°F, a comfortable, dry heat, with a couple degrees of added warmth for your Friday. Always a pleasure to watch Jackie Johnson deliver the forecast on the 11 p.m. news.

Free ones: Rundown…

Belmont 9
Calder 2, 6
BFHollyPark 7

Pay-side: Today…

Churchill 5, 6, 8, 9, 10
Pimlico 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8
Golden Gate 5, 6, 7
Lone Star 1, 4, 7

Today’s Stakes Pageantry: None today, but this is to be expected, knowing what’s going to be happening tomorrow and Saturday. Time to rest up in advance of your wild weekend, ya NRBQ-loversz!

Yesterday’s Activity: Apologies for the inglorious swansong from Frantic City. We have 358 days to prepare for next year&rsqu;s stand, if Allah permitsz. Next year in McKee City.

Sort of a quiet day yesterday, your Wednesday, with only Frantic City, Belmont and Churchill being under consideration for the free and pay-sides, and with limited opportunities at that.

Rainy night at Evangeline, but the inclemency did not stop the great Lime Me (could this possibly be a reference to the drinking of Corona, la cerveza fria, desde la botella? Anyway, the great Lime Me broke from post 14 and did what he needed to do to make some of us happy, d(r)owning the rest of the field at a refreshing 20-1 or so. And that was enough. We shall never come close to attaining a 40 percent hit-rate. However, we’ll get the one, the right one, hopefully, and it will turn out OK, Allah willing.

Nocturnal Submission: Evangeline, is it still raining hard down there? Thank you for last evening. We try your second (7:05 p.m. EDT / 4:05 p.m. PDT) tonight for #4 Baja Oklahoma; Oklahoma > Tejas (Tejas!); no murders of U.S. Presidents in Oklahoma, only of 168 bureaucratsz and their families and associatesz; must be something about that part of the World; but A. Rosenbaum would have liked it; that tells you everything you need to know. …Later, it’s the finale at PennNat (9:37 / 6:37), so the possibility exists for a King of the NetCapper Bulliesz special! Yes: #5 Mountain Climber can — yup, you guessed it— reach the top; boo, weaksauce! as well, #4 I Am Not Who I Was and #2 Golden Temple can do it. …
