american-water

‘Moments can be monuments to you,
If your life is interesting and true’

Over the past two weeks or so we have scoured our brains for all the possible ethnical permutations of one Mr. Nathaniel Silverblossom’s last name. We came pretty close to getting them all, but more likely we hit on only 90.9 percent of them.

Alas. There is (or, by now, maybe was) an alt-country band called Silver Jews. The picture you see is the cover art for what we think of as their best album, American Water.

Guys like Silver Jews founder David Berman are true poets who happen to make music to go along with the pretty words. The lyrics are the thing, yet somehow the chords and melodies fit in quite nicely. The most accessible ditty on it is “Honk If You’re Lonely”, and when you hear it the fourth or fifth time, you’ll already be singing along and perhaps even trying to do some line-dancing! Yee-haw!

Free ones: Rundown…

B** F*** Hollypark 4, 5, 6, 7, 9

Pay-side: Today…

Today’s Stakes Pageantry: All right, all right, ya added-money-event loversz!

Fan f-in’-tastic stakes card in So. Fla. today, and the pensioners will be hitting the track hard, now that they beat back the challenge of that whippersnapper P. Raynd for V.P. Yeah! New Gray Panther Party Coming for Your Gunsz! Translation: Calder 6, 8, 10 & 11 on the free page.

Pay-side has Lrl 6 and Haw 6 and WO 8 and Ret 7 & 9.

Elsewhere in state-subsidized stakes selections, it might prove difficult, but we shall attempt to work around the morning-line fave in CD 9, the Grade III Louvull Cardinal. In it, #1 Bizzy Caroline and #8 Fugitive Angel are preferred to the chalk.

Call for a Philip Morris Upset in GG 3, the Golden Nugget. Maybe a something better than a 9.1 percent chance for #3 Anytime Magic.

Later on in the American Evening, it’s the CT 6, the Tri-State Futurity Sponsored by The Generous Local Employer Called Murray Energy. The War On Coal Can Be Fought With #8 Landon Did It. (Yes, he did.)

WMF Report:

Early
Calder 6f
Hawthorne 6f
PennNat 6f
Turf Paradise 6f (WMF 400)
Zia 6f

Rally
Laurel 5½f (T) (WMF 18)

Nocturnal Submission: It’s down to Delta, Race 2 (7:12 p.m. EST / 4:12 p.m. PST), in which #3 Toughman can run to that billing (truly, however, the name ‘Toughorse’ might have been a better choice, since most of us not reading bRIGHTbarfbrat.com kind of sense that equines are faster on their hooves than humans are on their feet). …Two potential stunners in the second at PennNat (6:28 / 3:28): #1 Royal Ignition, #4 Corvino. …Later there in the Grantville, Penna., area, it’s Race 8 (9:14 / 6:14) for #1 Senator Bill Nelson (or is that #1 Senator Bill ‘Nighthorse’ Campbell? We report, you decide). …

Thank you. Best wishes. Pick up some Silver Jews — or at least “Honk If You’re Lonely”. Now, this song is not representative of the larger body of work, but it is a song you should rather enjoy. Link here:

You may thank us, or you may flame us on freerepublik.ru. We’ll play either side.

Again, thank you and best wishes. Goodbye. Beep-beep!
