Your Sunday Stakes Sweep: September 4, 2011

Over to the Del Mar again, Race 4, the Adoration, is free.

Two races prior, it’s the Torrey Panes, where #4 Long Lake Krista has an excellent upset shot.

Actually, pay-side for Monmouth consists entirely of the stakes trio at that track! zOMG.

Free in the ninth at the Eastern Spa, the Grade III Saranac.

Before that one, it’s Race 3, the Sightseek. In it, #5 Satans Quick Chick looks quite strong. For less parimutuel excitement try the 10th, the Grade I Spinaway, and #3 Georgie’s Angel.

Minn.-breds all day at the Canterbury. You just can’t beat it. At any rate, here are three races of varying degrees of contention.

The ninth is the Distaff Classic, and it&rsuo;s the one with the apparently prohibitive choice: #3 Sheso Dazzling.

One race earlier, it’s the exact opposite — namely, wild-open (yes, wild-open). It truly is like sticking your hand in a sock-drawer in a dark room, all different colours in as many different trips. So try #6 Happy Hour Honey.

Then the fourth is in-between: mildly contentious. No problem in selecting #3 Rustic Road.

That&rsuo;s it for now. Best wishes for a prosperous Sunday this time.
