Your Saturday Stakes Sweep: August 6, 2011

Two of this afternoon’s three stakes at Calder are available via the free page.

Then there’s the other member of the trio, the 11th, the Fla. Stallion Desert Vixen. In it, #8 Redbud Road looks too strong.

Open affair in the eighth at Louisiana, the Sunny’s Halo. There, #5 Worthington is worth a shot.

Race 9, the Super Dby Prelude, is available on the pay-side.

At River (!), Race 7 is named the Vivacious. #2B Honey Be Fleet has as good a shot as any of the others.

The aforementioned free page also hosts the eighth at the Ancient Spa, the De La Rose.

After that comes Race 9, the Grade I Test, and #2 American Lady gets the straight-up upset call now.

Back-to-back upsets in store (stakes double, anyone?) when in the 10th, the Grade I Whitney, we prefer #5 Tizway on the V6 rankings. Come on, you Jonah!

We’ll head to Suffolk for Race 8, the Last Dance, for quality time with #1A Gorgeous Silk.

Lots of minor-track added-money events to handle today, with oversized stakes cards at the Mountain and Prairie. At the Mountain, they have the Grade II W.Va. Dby today, Race 8, and here’s a Bonkers Box-type situation for yourself: #9 Loranger Native & #6 Sherriff Cogburn.

Then in Race 8 at the Prairie, it’s the Ralph Hayes, and #7 Ice Hockey is a live third-choice on your morning line.

OK. Take a deep breath. Bye-bye. Best wishes for a prosperous Saturday.
