Brasil’s going wrong, and this version of the old standard has some eerie, modern-string-quartet angst built right in. Perfeito!

Today’s Stakes Pageantry: None today, but your Philalala Flyers look to solidify their grip on the final Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference of the Big-League Hockey this evening at home against the World’s No. 1 Team, your Wash., D.C., Caps. Philalala and its closest Wild Card pursuer, Detroit City, are even on points, 87, but the former will have a game in hand after tonight’s contest.

Yesterday’s Activity:

Track (Win Mutuels $20+/Gettable)

Mahoning (1/0) — Cavaliers get outscored 35-16 in 4th quarter of home loss to Rockets; Cleveland’s Kylie Irving led all scorers with 31.

Keystone (3/2) — Your contentious Race 2 went to Front Cover Dream, owner of the lone 80+ LifeLiner Speed Column analysis rating in the field; Front Cover Dream won by a clean half-length at $22.20. In Race 8, it was Runs for Luck, $21.80, coming through in a noncontentious affair; however, ’Luck was one of ’em Dual Qualifiers (86, 89) and he won clear by 3. High-Octane Chancers might have been necessary to get the second longshot, but not the first one.

Sunland (1/0) — 6-9 NMSU power forward Pascal Siakam has been named as an honorable-mention selection to the AP All-America team.

Turf Paradise (1/0) — D’backs drop 6-1 Cactus League game to Colorado at Salt River Fields at Talking Stick, Maricopa Co.; Ariz. starter Anthony Banda went 4 innings, surrendering 2 ER.

The WRD (2/1) — Contentious race in the finale, and Hot Walker, a qualifying 82 on the LifeLiner Speed Column analysis, did what he had to for High-Octane Chancers, Mid-Level Trancers and No-Life Necromancers alike; he ran to his complete LifeLiner Array (60-74-82) in rallying like Champion he’s on his way to becoming, paying $30.80 in a 1-length upset. No public tout forthcoming, due to the low 6-1 morning-line odds. Nonetheless, this was one of ’em King of The NetCapper Bullies Nightcap Specials. As always, hope you had ’im. Hoo-boy.
