A week of goodbyes continues. Sunday it was maybe the greatest Los Angeles King, Mistah Anze Kopitar, putting in his last shift on the ice, getting his stick taps from friend & foe alike, with even the officials standing in applause. Today, it was a much less ceremonious so-long to Philalala Phillies Manager Rob Thomson, who had to be the fall guy for the team’s current status as doormat & basement-dweller among MLB teams. Who’s next?
One late-issue from last night’s (Monday’s) action: at New Cumberland, W.Va., #6 Take Charge Gent (.275 Win Prob / 2.64-1 Fair Odds / 3.36-1 Premium Odds) ran to that billing in Race 7 at $35.40.
As for today (Tuesday), some of the races went like this…
At Canandaigua, N.Y., your Race 8 finale had #5 Saratoga Banker (.415 / 1.41 / 1.75) winning it for the Spa at $6.74.
At Collinsville, Ill., #1 Takethesilver (.225 / 3.44 / 4.20) actually grabbed the gold in Race 7 finale at $25.40; completing your winning $101.40 exacta was #5 Stagflation (.280 / 2.57 / 3.18), with the premium price on that comboa (comboa!) being $35.11.
At Cornwells Hts., Penna., Race 4 saw #4 Nit Witness (.306 / 2.27 / 2.82) having the keenest eye for victory at $7-even. Then in the Race 9 finale there, #1 Psalmist (.210 / 3.76 / 4.71) won it for King David at $19.80.
Three on the tree from The Mountain…
