BestLine Racing Society Recap:
A couple of post-press-time connections to report from last night’s (Saturday’s) late action: At Collinsville, Ill., Race 3 found #5 Brahms Jr. (.174 Win Prob / 4.75-1 Fair Odds / 7.05-1 Premium Odds) and #7 Zee Fire (.248 / 3.03 / 3.84) combining on your winning $69.80 exacta whose premium price was $68.24. In Race 5, #8 Carnack On Tour (.315 / 2.17 / 2.81) staged a winning performance at $12.60.
As for today (Sunday), some of your races went like this…
Starting as we frequently do in The Empire State of New York, specifically Ozone Park, where your opener went to #7 Cyclone State (.522 / 0.92 / 1.30) at $7.40. In Race 4, #9 Sugar Bee (.114 / 7.77 / 11.28) provided a sweet buzz to his backers at $29.40.
To Louisville, Ky., now for Race 5, which #5 Sally O’Malley (.193 / 4.18 / 6.25) won for Molly Shannon at $16.28.
Across the northern border to Rocky View, Alb., for Closing Day this time. #3 B B’s Wildfire (.390 / 1.56 / 2.08) couldn’t be put-out in Race 2 at $11.80; completing your winning $21.60 exacta was #4 Fastestgirlintown (.323 / 2.10 / 3.33), with the premium price on that comboa (comboa!) being $18.01. In Race 6, #2 Jump the Queue (.387 / 1.58 / 2.10) was in-line for the victory at $17.40.
It’s Del Mar, Calif.: The Day After. Race 3 was lousy with first-timers, and #10 Resolve (.218 / 3.59 / 4.50) displayed a sufficient amount of same at $21.20; completing your winning $47-even exacta was #6 Lee’s Baby Girl (.460 / 1.17 / 1.61), with the premium price on that comboa (comboa!) being $23.49. In Race 6, also lousy with first-timers, #6 Whiskyginandbrandy (.818 / 0.22 / 0.47) set the bar too high for his debuting rivals at $4.20.
Race 5 from Hallandale Beach, Fla., was lousy with first-timers, so #2 Como (.286 / 2.50 / 3.90) won it for Perry & a body of water in Italy & the experienceds at $11.20. Next race there, #2 American Speed (.214 / 3.67 / 5.54) showed enough of same at $13-even — granted, this was 8¢ shy of the premium price; however, we would not judge you too harshly if you decided to leave those eight centavos as a Tribute Upon the Altar of The God of Doing Business Via The Parimutuels. We report, you decide! As well, your $76.40 daily double had a premium price of $64.09.
Ending as we often do with Etobicoke Int’l., whose Race 8 went to #7 Somethinabouther (.242 / 3.13 / 3.96) at $33.70.
