One post-press-time connection to report from last night’s (Wednesday’s) late action: At Grantville, Penna., #10 Over and Thunder (.243 Win Prob / 3.12-1 Fair Odds / 3.94-1 Premium Odds) brought same to his Race 7 opponents, striking at $29.60.
As for today (Thursday), some of your races went like this…
Starting as we often do on a weekday at Queen Ziti Zinzinnati Porkopolis, whose opener was lousy with first-timers, giving #1 Misbehavin (.708 / 0.41 / 0.69) the win as the best of your experienceds at $9.80. In Race 7, #1 Peekaboowillie (.404 / 1.48 / 1.97) hid from the rest at $10-even; completing your winning $14.40 exacta was #3 Green Lady (.336 / 1.98 / 2.57), with the premium price on that comboa (comboa!) being $14.06.
Over to New Kent, Va., for Race 7, won by #9 Wild West Justice (.167 / 4.99 / 7.38) at $28.80.
At Stanton, Del., #5 Doin’ittherightway (.290 / 2.45 / 3.14) ran to that billing in Race 4, winning at $8.80.
#5 Annie’s Hope (.278 / 2.60 / 3.32) was your Del Mar, Calif., Race 5 winner at $9.40.
#4 Fit to Fly (.376 / 1.66 / 2.19) was your Shelbyville, Ind., opener winner at $8.80. In Race 5, which was lousy with first-timers, #11 Shesmyhuckleberry (.221 / 3.52 / 4.43) won it for Henry Mancini, Geo. Peppard and, most important, Audrey Hepburn at $16.80.
Another opener, this time also a meet-starter from Franklin, Ky., where #10 Flirting With Time (.206 / 3.85 / 5.80) still was sufficiently prompt at $31.36.
Another opener, now out of Saratoga Springs, N.Y., and #5 Jus Too Fly (.695 / 0.44 / 0.73) taking advantage of a field lousy with first-timers at $4.60.
