A couple of post-press-time connections to report from last night’s (Tuesday’s) late action: At St. James-Winnipeg, Man., #5 Enano Caro (.280 Win Prob / 2.57-1 Fair Odds / 3.29-1 Premium Odds) won Race 5 for Dopey, Sneezy, Doc et al.) at $10.10. At New Cumberland, W.Va., Race 8 went to #1 Just U and Me Kid (.287 / 2.48 / 3.18) at $27.20.

As for today (Wednesday), some of the races went like this…

Starting as we sometimes do early in the workweek in The Buckeye State of Ohio, at Ziti Zinzinnati Porkopolis, whose opener had #6 Kid Mattie Matt (.393 / 1.54 / 2.05) prevailing at $7.40; completing your winning $20.40 exacta was #7 Good Looking (.251 / 2.98 / 3.78), with the premium price on that exacta being $19.59.

In the Nisku-Edmonton, Alta., opener, #2 Toriador (.456 / 1.19 / 1.63) overcame the faulty spelling to subdue the bull at $5.50.

To Stanton, Del., for Race 3, won by #3 On the Chill (.350 / 1.86 / 2.43) at $11.60.

In the Shelbyville, Ind., finale, which on this card was numerically Race 8, #6 The Kid Pataky (.292 / 2.42 / 3.11) won it for the actress Elsa at $12-even.

#1 Big Scully (.358 / 1.79 / 2.35) won the Bossier City, La., opener for Gillian Anderson at $10.60.

Race 2 from New Cumberland, W.Va., had #6 Captain Creed (.216 / 3.63 / 4.56) winning it for Prince Edward Island at $11.60.

To Erie, Penna., for Race 4, in which #1 Aquacat (.347 / 1.88 / 2.46) won it for the tiger shark at $10-even; completing your winning $47-even exacta was #3 Hari (.275 / 2.64 / 3.36), with the premium price on that comboa (comboa!) being $21.45. In Race 8, which on this day was also the finale qualitatively, #2 Get Khozy (.515 / 0.94 / 1.33) got cozy in the winner’s circle at $5.60.

At Saratoga Spgs., N.Y., #5 Deck of Cards (.170 / 4.88 / 6.06) shuffled to victory in Race 7 at $20.80. Next race there, #4 My Shea D Lady (.525 / 0.90 / 1.29) won it for Mrs. Met at $6.40; your winning $41.20 daily double had a premium price of $32.33.
