One team not close to being eliminated anytime soon, or maybe at all this year, is your 2024 Phightin’ Philalala Phillies. On their way to their seventh-straight win, and 17th victory in their last 21 games. The early-season singles-hitting experiment has given way to an explosion of slug, and the pitching, especially the depth & quality of the starting rotation, makes sure they don’t get buried out of any games early. Fun to watch right now.
BestLine Racing Society Recap:
One post-press-time connection to report from last night’s (Monday’s) late action: At New Cumberland, W.Va., #3 Whoop Gone (.209 Win Prob / 3.78-1 Fair Odds / 5.70-1 Premium Odds) was outta sight (and outta the public’s mind) in a Race 4 shockah at $53.60.
Another full slate today, though admittedly there was the straightening-out of some spurious reports earlier. Regrets!
Starting with Race 2 from Shelbyville, Ind., and #4 Money War (.597 / 0.68 / 1.01) being waged successfully, resulting in a successful wager at $18.80.
To Bossier City, La., for the first time in this nascent meet, and Race 3, which was won by #1 Star Ready (.279 / 2.58 / 3.30) at $12.40.
Race 9 on the card from Bensalem Twp., Penna., had #1 Movisitor (.284 / 2.52 / 3.23) as a welcome guest in the winner’s circle at $9-even.
Another low-priced win overlay to report, this one in Race 6 at No. Randall, Ohio, where #4 My Hombre (.442 / 1.26 / 1.71) was the man at $7.20. In Race 8, today’s finale, #7 Salute the Kid (.208 / 3.81 / 5.73) was recognized as your upset winner at $24.60.
