A couple of post-press-time connections to report from last night’s (Friday’s) late action: At Chas. Town, W.Va., Race 2 went to #4 Tiz the Reason (.343 Win Prob / 1.92-1 Fair Odds / 2.50-1 Premium Odds) at $9-even. At Albany, Calif., #5 Tamara Mine (.277 / 2.61 / 4.05) and #2 Baby Kristen (.304 / 2.29 / 2.95) combined on your winning $36.40 exacta whose premium price was $31.99.
As for today (Saturday), another full slate.
Opening night at Louisville, Ky., and in the opener, #5 Spycraft (.289 / 2.46 / 3.15) could not be caught at the wire at $9.74.
Race 2 from Hallandale Beach, Fla., went to #13 Dollar Liberty (.124 / 7.06 / 10.29), who was free to win and provide much paper currency to his backers at $87.40; completing your winning $428.80 exacta was #4 Barry the Builder (.207 / 3.83 / 4.80), with the premium price on that comboa (comboa!) being $119.36. In a Race 4 lousy with first-timers, #5 Unequivocally (.377 / 1.65 / 2.18) taking the unambiguous stand for the experienceds at $12.40. In the finale, which numerically was Race 11, #4 Kid Cairo (.132 / 6.58 / 8.09) won it for Egypt (or maybe Illinois?!) at $31.20.
At Stickney, Ill., Race 3 went to #3 Kaely’s Sister (.522 / 0.92 / 1.30) at $5-even.
#6 Espionage (.146 / 5.85 / 8.59) was a pretty well-kept secret in taking Race 5 on the Hot Springs, Ark., card, digging-up a $30-even win mutuel.
The Arcadia, Calif., opener had #7 Gold Foot (.210 / 3.76 / 4.71) running to that billing at $23.80; completing your winning $86.40 exacta was #3 Hot Legs Romolo (.156 / 5.41 / 7.97), with the premium price on that comboa (comboa!) being $84.49.
