A couple of post-press-time connections to report from yesterday’s (Saturday’s) late-night action: At New Orleans#6 Five Star General (.236 Win Prob / 3.24-1 Fair Odds / 4.08-1 Premium Odds) commanded a success Race 11 campaign at $26.60; at Florence, Ky.#7 Secretary of War (.239 / 3.18 / 4.02) kept-up the military theme by defeating his Race 2 enemies at $27.86; completing your winning $194.62 exacta was another martial-named runner, #3 Warrior’s Place (.171 / 4.85 / 6.02), with the premium price on that comboa (comboa!) being $56.44.

Only the Two Floridas early-on on Christmas Eve now, today, Sunday.

First, it’s south to Hallandale Beach., for Race 5; in it, #6 Ashima (.368 / 1.72 / 2.26) won it for the goddess of fate or else the famous rock-climbing Ms. Shiraishi at $10.40. In Race 7#7 Gullfaxi (.544 / 0.84 / 1.21) won it for the Golden Mane of Norse mythology at $4.60

Now, northwest of there, at Oldsmar, it was #6 Star Kanoo  (.240 / 3.17 / 4.00) paddling into the winner’s circle in Race 5 at $20.20

Night off for the Thoroughbreds; however, maybe you can root home some reindeer or some such — though it seems that that darned Rudolph (not to be confused with Rudolf Juliano!) seems to get that blasted big red nose of his down at the wire first every year!
