The ol’ razzle-dazzle!

Blowing-up The Hollywood Bowl. Next day, blowing-up No. American toteboards!

To be honest, this Maxwell guy who closed-out the amphitheater season last night was such a consummate performer & seducer, well, we just have to stop right here and give him his props; he had the audience eating out of his slick, steady hand all evening long —the ladies were not disappointed! Surely, his act was the epitome of ‘mood music’, emphasis on MOOD, y’know.

It all was a bit hazy, really, what with the pyrotechnics at the end here, preceded by another sort of lighting-up throughout the entirety of the seating area. If you had not been previously aware of the concept of the ‘contact high’, you got a big whiff of it at this show. Haze!

BestLine Racing Society Recap:

Housekeeping: One late win-overlay winner from Friday; #3 El Pacho (.445 Win Prob / 1.25-1 Fair Odds / 1.70-1 Premium Odds) in Race 5 at Chas. Town, W.Va.

Today it was Colonial, DelPark, Del Mar, Kentucky, Monmouth & Woodbine from before. (What follows only appears to be every winner on every race on the card; this sort of a day is a rarity, but we must take it! Deep breath in, now!)

Now over to Del Mar, Calif., for the opener; in it, #6 Beau Soleil (.515 / 0.94 / 1.33) shined brightest at $11.60 — there were four first-timers in this race.

From Franklin, Ky., Race 1 had #11 Pinotslilgirl (.699 / 0.43 / 0.72) winning at $13.96 in a field riddled with eight first-time starters. In Race 8#2 Private Creed (.193 / 4.18 / 5.22) won it for the marranos, conversos & ladinos everywhere at $14.02. In Race 10#9 Gear Jockey (.238 / 3.20 / 4.04) had an ample supply of gears to shift through at $48.60; completing your winning $210.60 exacta was #1 One Timer (.209 / 3.78 / 4.74), with the premium price on that comboa (comboa!) being $46.37.

Race 4 at Oceanport, N.J., saw #4 Carats Forever (.401 / 1.49 / 1.99) sparkling hardest at $12.40; completing your winning $50.40 exacta was #9 Violets Smile (.164 / 5.10 / 7.54), with the premium price on that comboa (comboa!) being $33.98. In the finale, a late scratch of the original top selection propelled #2 Kashan (.220 / 3.55 / 4.45) to No. 1 on the charts, and that made the difference in a playable $12.20 win.

Finally to Etobicoke Int’l., starting with Race 5, in which #4 Hockey (.397 / 1.52 / 2.02) lit the lamp at $7.20 — disclaimer: two first-time starters were in this field. In Race 10, #2 Moira (.315 / 2.17 / 2.81) won it for Catherine O’Hara at $7.90
