All right, all right, ya’ Morrissey-lovers! Take it easy. Here’s an appropriate song for the second day of your weekend, by your favorite aggrieved-old-white-guy nativist yodeler. Except here it’s performed by a known women’s-lib activist! Busted, Morrissey! Busted!
BestLine Racing Society Recap:
Del Mar, Emerald, Golden Gate, Louisiana, Monmouth & Saratoga earlier. Tough day for the fans; maybe at Monmouth you had some giant prices, as long as you didn’t cut things too fine. We can’t comment, because we are cutting things fine these days, looking to lower the overhead; however, some stragglers who were positive-WAR / better-than-random, came through at astounding prices as the last eligible playable contenders in contentious races. Again, if you do not cut things too fine, you were OK today at Monmouth, anyway. We are cutting things too fine right now; we shall see.
Race 2 at Del Mar, Calif., had #1 Callhercontessa (.238 Win Prob / 3.20-1 Fair Odds / 4.04-1 Premium Odds) calling the shots at the wire at $13.40.
At Saratoga Springs, N.Y., #3 City Man (.374 / 1.67 / 2.21) won Race 3 for Erling Haaland at $7.90.
BestLine Racing Society Nightcap:
The Mountain now. Kindly help us understand how it might not be raining for a few days in a row at New Cumberland, W.Va, yet the turf course is not being used. Generally in this country, the only thing that takes a race off the turf is recent rain; yet we cannot see any record of precip for New Cumberland, W.Va., lately. Are they playing that cautious-grass-card like they are at Saratoga?
