- When it rains, it pours…
- …and the earth also roars? YEA, VERILY, IT ROARS!
La-La Land, baby. No storms like this in August since 1939. Hey, why not a little seismic activity, too, while we’re at it? All-natural Hollywood drama, no fillers or cosmetic surgeries or soundstages or CGI necessary! Scene…and…ACTION!
This storm’s strongest rain, accompanied by its fiercest winds, is forecast to arrive here in the next hour or so, around 5 o’clock local time. However, we have no certainty if the 2:42 p.m. PDT earthquake, a magnitude 5.1, was just a foreshock in advance of something even stronger. SoCal, let’s go!
But if we dig out of this OK after tonight, then Tuesday should be nice, dry & sunny, with a high temp of 81°F on tap for Nichols Canyon; Valley temp a couple of degrees higher, at 83°F. Good again for tennis! See you on the courts!
Meanwhile, we wait-out this once-in-a-lifetime double-whammy. Thanks, Hilary! Thanks, plate tectonics! Thanks, Obama! Later!
BestLine Racing Society Recap:
No Del Mar (thanks, Hilary!), but Hawthorne, Louisiana, Laurel, Monmouth, Saratoga & Woodbine earlier, with no reports of measurable seismic activity at any of those places.
No rocking of the toteborad over here, either, sniff, sniff. At Stickney, Ill., #4 Nullarbor (.185 Win Prob / 4.41-1 Fair Odds / 5.49-1 Premium Odds) took the fifth at an unimpeachable $14.20. Come on, you Jonah!
